I just got one of these...Always wanted one. Me and my wife box a good bit...Just a hobby, and stay in shape. I've been browsing around for routines and things to do on this though, and thus far..I've found 1 video on youtube where somebody is actually hitting one. They'd throw like a 1-2 on the hand mits, and then throw left hook, right hook to the body pad. Pretty much continue the same trend while occasionally throwing a straight right to the body. What is the best way to utilize this? I'm short and stocky so really body shots are great for me to practice more on.
Just experiment with mixing up different combinations of punches going head, body, head. 1-2 to the head, left hook to the body, right uppercut to the head right straight head, left uppercut head, right straight body, left hook head jab to head, right hook to body, right uppercut to head etc
Well we already practiced combo with the regular mits. Like 1-2, left hook low, left hook high. jab, right hook to the body, right upppercut, left hook to the head. etc, etc. Which this will come in handy doing the body shots of course within those combinations. I was just wondering if there was really a routine boxers use, or big time body punchers (like Ricky Hatton for example) use to really utilize this vest.
