Kegsy I agree with your list so far..although id have Fleming and Awad abit higher..With Fleming..they could be having a Skinny/Hussy Hussein approach..beat 25 thai/filos/agries,then step up?...Weird though,u look at Paul Williams..his first 20 or so fights are against complete bums, more loosing records then winning, but he came good obviously.Time will tell i Guess
In some cases yes they do but in AUS alot of the times they do not. Case in Point.. Matt Watt would nor have been calling the shots on who KT was fighting, yet he was KTs manager. His job was to make KT as much money as he could and get him as many oppertunities as he could but in the end KT sits down with Johnny Lewis and they decide who KT fights, not the manager. This is Aussie, not America. Billy Dib and Billy Husseins 10 fights to a world title story that Billy Dib speaks about, not one mention of Billys Manager in that interview, nothing about him getting Billy 10 fights then a world title shot, it was all Billy Husseins name being mention. Do you think Dunkin is telling Mundine who he is fighting next? you can bet he may be drawing up a list but Anthony and his Dad will be the ones who select whom Mundine fights next up. As for a case in which a manager does say who the guy fights or has a strong influence, one name that comes to Mind is Arum but even then he must consult with pacman and Roach, he cant just tell them who pacman is fighting next (unless its Mayweather lol) and this isnt assumption its how things work.
You are Wrong ! Boxers Like KT have an America Agent who tries to find the most Suitable opponent at the best price.
so who was KTs american agent then? .. Watt would have consulted with american agents, imo KT wouldnt have had one on the books working for him.
The more I look into the first five's records, the more repetitive, continual losers jump out at me....... IS THERE AN OFFICIAL IN THE BUILDING ? ...NO...I MEAN....IS THERE AN OFFICIAL WITH SOME BALLS IN THE BUILDING? Still a no... Well anyway, READ THIS...How many more fights will you let William Hadlow have, before he is frozen onto the backs of his heels, or in a seriously comotose state......he hasnt won a fight in the last 12 bouts (2009), has been knocked out 4 times in last 7 fights, in fact, he has not won one round for a very long while, and I see he is fighting for some kellogs cornflake commonwealth title......NOW, THIS IS Farking WRONG....and any one that is wanting to fight him, to gain an easy statistic and plastic title belt, should prepay his funeral. Am I getting too emotional? Does anyone else see the peril here?
I was specifically referring to altamura and fleming. Altamura definitely decides who he is fighting, i know that for a fact. I also know he was after a filo import to match fleming with not too long ago and requested it be a FLYWEIGHT. Thats the sort of bs match making this thread aims to highlight i guess. As for roach and arum...roach use to have a say but not now. He doesnt want to fight bradey, either does manny. But manny is a slave to arum...as much as arum says that manny chooses his opponents, its bs. Arum picks them and they cop it.
I share your concern for William Hadlow mate, and also recognize how ridiculous it is that a fighter who hasn't won in living bloody memory is fighting for a title. There are a lot of blokes still fighting that shouldn't be though, and many have far better looking records than Hadlow. A fighters last half dozen performances are a far greater indication of where he's at than the 40 or 80 fights that preceded them. Particularly if they are not just losing, but copping huge beatings in the process.
