hey wats up guys, i have just come back to boxing after taking a small break 2 month break(i trained during the summer) and during the break i just weight trained. I signed up at a great gym, had a kickass first workout personally with a trainer and I got extremely motivated to keep doing it.

After the workout my trainer told me that if i was serious and i wanted to fight i should be doing roadwork everyday. so i trained on friday, jogged, but didnt train on saturday(my muscles that i trained were sore chest shoulders abs etc, but on sunday I felt a very ANNOYING and painful feeling in my foot. It was at the arc but on the outside of the foot(in line with the pinky toe.)

Since i was fine a whole day before i thought that it may have been bad jogging shoes but it is VERY annoying i gotta limp and i look like an ******* lol. Has this happpend to anyone else and does it go away?

Buy yourself a wheelchair mate, that one's permanent. Just kidding... just give it some rest. If that doesn't work go see the doctor. If you want to run you need good shoes otherwise more injuries will probably follow. Go to a Runners World or something they can help you out.

Go see a doctor. It could be anything from a metatarsal injury to a damaged tendon or ligament.

thanks for the reply i hope its just extreme soreness and i would be pissed if i pulled something. I am really pissed that i gotta skip some training because of this damn foot. I was also thinking that it couldve been soreness because of me pushing off my back foot repeatedly when i threw punches, but that soreness shoulve shown up on schedule with my other muscles approx 12 hrs after the workout instead of 2 days later right?
i wore these for the last time i jogged prior to the foot pain.

    i know, shitty choice
when i first boxed and i was jogging i wore these for roadwork, and as well as the 30 mins of pain yesterday morning.

To be honest, I'm no shoe specialist, but I do know that the way they make a lot of modern shoes, increases the chance of you acquiring foot injuries. Just find a good pair of sneakers that you feel comfortable in and stick with them. As for your foot, put ice on it in the meantime and keep it elevated.

No wonder your feet hurt! Those are fashion shoes. You need to get real running shoes made specifically for running. I've had really good luck with New Balance.

Also, be sure to stretch before and after.

Firstly put ice on the foot for an hour a day.

Secondly lay off the roadwork till it recovers.

Thirdly get some real running shoes with plenty of support and padding and change them every 500miles

Fourthly wear thick running socks, perhaps 2 pairs

Lastly You may want to use an MSM, Glucosamine and Chondroitin Supplement like this 1

I have NB zip and saucony pro grid running shoes, they are both absolutely awesome. Get something like that, forget fashion.

wat the **** im pissed it still hurts, i cant be sore for this long right? Especially for someone who regularly works out? I cant stand skipping out on training cause of the pain and fear that it will get worse. i think something is wrong im about to go see a doctor.

I would wait a couple more days unless you have a fight in the next few weeks. For the shoes, I have flat feet which according to the experts I need an over-pronator shoe.

I know what u mean. its a pain. I just got something like that the saturday that passed. I was running and I just got a sharp pain. I walked it off then continued running. then the pain came back when I finished running. the rest of the day I was limping. its getting better. I could walk alittle straighter now. I just put a icy hot patch on my foot. I guess its helping I hope so because im fighting this saturday and I want to get some running in but I don't want to worsen it. ima still train though.?
