Craig Windsor put on a decent show, that's who I was really there to see anyway. It was a good night all in.
As for results. There were only 5 bouts, so I guess one was cancelled. As best as I can remember the fights and order it was roughly... Bout 1: Hugh McIlroy vs Sid Razak - (McIlroy on points, 4-2 I had it. He showed good footwork and movement in the opening rounds but seemed to gas a little by the 4th. Kid had a big support there by the looks of it and they all ****ed off straight after his fight. ) Bout 2: Craig Kelly vs Dave Fiddler (Dave Fiddler TKO/KO/Retirement ... weird one, I think it was the 4th or 5th round, Kelly took a knee after pressure from the stronger Dave Fiddler. It looked like a standard 8 count at first but Kelly got sat on the stool in his opponents corner and there seemed to be some confusion in there, couldn't work it but he walked out on his own two feet and rattled the door in disgust as he went back to his changing room.) Bout 3: Ronnie Clark vs Kristian Laight (Ronnie Clark on Points? ) Bout 4: Craig Windsor Jr vs Ryan Clark (Windsor On Points, Clark showed good heart and took a few hard shots from the big swinging Windsor but survived to lose the decision) Bout 5: Stephen Russell vs Marc Callaghan - (Callaghan pulled out with a shoulder injury in the 2nd I heard, can't really comment as I missed this fight.)
Is that one of The Fighting Mcllroy brothers that there was a BBC documentary about some years back. Wondered what happened to them because you didn't hear about any of them since.
Yeah I think he is, he's a lad from Stevenston and it was his debut, one of my mates from down that way was talking to some guys outside the centre before we turned up and they told him he lives (and trains) in Paisley now? Out of the two stands in the Lagoon, almost a full stand was taken up with his fans, they all had their tops off and were going mental during the fight, I never noticed them leave but when I looked over later (maybe during bout 3) most of that stand was empty and they had ****ed off. £30 for one fight :blood
It is. George is fighting again and re-signed with Tommy Gilmour - at light-welter/welter? Think he had hand injuries which was a factor in his sole loss to Billy Smith. Jamie turned over at around the same time and was fighting around super-feather. He won his first 4 all on points. Last I heard, he was doing MMA or another combat sport.
clarke is a good honest journeyman ive seen him a few times and he doesnt come 2 fall over hes a good decent pro
suprised to see Shug listed as a light welterwieght if Goerge is one and Jamie is only a super featherwirght as he is the smallest of them all think he still lives in stevenston
