Anyone notice Palhares expression when Marquardt's foot literally slipped out of his grasp? Palhares is well known for having some of the most vicious heel hooks in the game. After the fight he went over to Nate and immeidately pointed to he's leg after which Herb Dean seemed to be checking Nate's leg. Sour grapes? Or the usual tricks employed against good grapplers like Palhares?
Yea, Greg Jackson made sure that any and everybody with authority checked the leg to prove it wasn't greased, which nobody seems to believe it was. Just an incredibly stupid move on Palhares' part, he could have won that fight.
Palhares humiliated himself and robbed everyone of a headline fight, it was so pathetic. I doubt he will ever fight again in the UFC.
Protect yourself at all times. It did look questionable but Nate went straight up to Herb Dean so that should be good enough. I'm sure Nate practiced alot of escapes and he did employ a well known escape of turning and pulling.
Nate said after that he had a hard warm up to get himself wet so he could slide out of situations like that. I must say at first i did wonder myself how he slides out so fast but as some have already said defend yourself at all times.
maybe im wrong but is this the same meathead who tried to break someones leg holding it for 5 secs last time out? and acted as he didnt know? if he is that guy he deserves to get his stupid ass beaten like nate did.
I see a lot of people say this, but it just isn't true. Palhares did **** that man's knee up on purpose. If you want to hate him for that, fine. Palhares torqued the knee before the ref jumped in. Rogan and slow motion tried to make it look different than it was. His opponent screamed before the ref ever made it. The damage was done when the opponent was screaming or just before. Palhares let go when the ref came in and touched his leg.
