According to Palle the fight will probably be in GB somewhere. http://www.bt.dk/article/20070624/SPORT08/70624001/0/A
why not 100% certain? Or at least 99%?... when you say 99% it means it's just little details that have to be sorted out...when you say 95%...it more than that, right?
I thought the fight was to be in Kesslers backyard-there I am thinking JC has done a psycho job on Kessler by going there I have to say JC should prove to the fans that he can fight somewhere else other than GB. He won't be an time great in the fans eyes until he wins in the states
That is crazy talk, US fighters are naturally superior, everyone knows that, have a lie down before questioning that fact again.
I'd hope you would consider a victory over Kessler to be superior... that being said, Calzaghe was considering fighting Inkin before Palle got "into" the negotiations. If he considered Inkin, then maybe Bute is not such a long shot when Bute will have the last belt for the "full" undisputed garner for Joe. This would be his 21st defence if he won. Bute vs. Calzaghe would be an entertaining bout, but Bute has very little chance for victory in my opinion.
Why should he fight in the states? Did you realize how many Mexicans/Americans showed up yesterday to watch one of their superstars: only 3000-4000! Just realize: the focus has shifted towards Europe.
I always rated Nigel Benn because he went to the States and beat the best the the USA had to offer. But maybe you are right- are there any US fighters good enough?
Bute's first defence against Calzaghe...what could be greater than that! Bute could become undisputed champion of the world...no * and footnotes needed here at all!
Dawson! But how many Americans would attend Dawson-Calzaghe? 1000 or 2000? Of course, Calzaghe should have fought in the states before. But it doesn't make any sense now. I am a big Kessler fan, but the fight Kessler-Calzaghe MUST be held in Britain. It'll generate a much larger crowd, more money, a better show etc.
