Carlos was never stopped, but his title defenses were good, but not over stellar opponents. Could Tito knock Palomino out, or would Carlos just box and gain a decision win?
Tito could knock him out...my bet though is he puts the hurt on Carlos in the mid rounds and edges home a well deserved decision once the beer salesman gets a little passive in response to Tito's firepower. About 8-4ish I reckon.
Tito would stop him, and I'm hardly a Tito fan. Palimino was extremely easy to hit, and his chin was VERY good, but he could be hurt. Dave Green buzzed him badly, and gave him hell. Tito's firepower is too much for anyone who's as easy to hit as Carlos. Tito TKO 11.
Palomino was easy to hit? I don't neccesarily agree with that assessment. I saw his fights with Stracey, Benitez, Duran. Although not a defensive genius like Benitez, CP was nevertheless very capable of slipping punches and landing stinging counters. He fought very well in a losing effort against Wifredo Rivera in his big comback fight at a very advanced age. Palomino was and is a class act who is an educated and highly intelligent individual. Carlos did not abuse himself with drinking, drugs, or overeating. That said, however, I still think that Tito would give Palomino hell. But Palomino would also give Trinidad all he could handle and more. Carlos' steel chin is dented but does not shatter against Tito's arsenal. His body attack affects Tito but Tito also does not fold. When all is said and done it is the steely will of two very determined and tough men. Trinidad nicks it by hurting Carlos late in the fight. Trinidad SD Palomino
