Impossible to tell. Jacobs has only fought a carefully picked list of very limit opposition so far. Call me back when he fights someone ranked in the top200 and then we'll talk on Jacob's potential.

I think it's a good fight for Miranda. I'm guessing it will be on Showtime or HBO. A win would put him right back in the mix for an even bigger fight. (Taylor/Froch, Bute, Kessler, etc...)

Harsh but true...but against punching bags, he definitely looks better than both Ward and Dirrell. I really like him. If he's not chinny, I can easily see him winning a belt and defending it.:good

As someone whose seen Jacobs since his amateur days, He's absolutely legit. Take it from me whose...decent I guess at prospect evaluation

Prototypically he's everything you look for. Can throw every punch and throw it effectively. Can box or trade, has underrated footwork for a young kid. Handles distance well. Whether he has a pro heart or chin is up for debate.

Does a win against Ward make him a legit contendor for a title fight? I think so. Ward is ranked high in 3 organizations. He is an undefeated gold medalist. Hell, he is the only gold medal winner the USA has had in boxing in the past 15 years!

No, it wouldn't mean Miranda should get a title shot, because Ward is a prospect who hasn't proven anything, but these days, fighters seem to get a title shot without beating Top 10 opposition...with the WBC, WBA and WBO...only the IBF seems to enforce proper, meaningful mandatories.

...what it does mean, imo, is that Miranda, if he fails to beat Ward, is finished as a contender. This is a last chance saloon fight for Pantera, realistically. He'd better come in and give it his best shot...no more excuses, this time!:deal

Ward may not be in your top 10, but after the top 4, it gets a little tricky. If I had a choice to pick from the next group as to who would be a harder fight for Miranda, Im not so sure there is anyone. Maybe Andrade since his style imo is not good matchup with Mirandas. If I had a choice who to fight, I would pick Pascal. However, he still wants to part of Edison right now.

I agree with your last paragraph. This is a career fight for Pantera. Ward 'could' turn into a great undefeated champion someday, but losing to him at this point in his career would be hard for a fighter like Edison to recover. Ward is ranked #2WBC and #2WBO (#10IBF). Someone will make the elimination bout.
