1993 Metal died...the bands after that just don't get it...Korn, Tool, Godsmack, System...f*ck..."nu metal" is gay.

Good bands might not be on the radio, but they still tour.

That's how I feel too dude haha. They just stick to gurgling into the microphones and playing the same 3 power chords over and over. They don't bother attempt to solo or when they do, it sounds terrible, but I guess even mighty Metallica is guilty of that since they didn't bother to include any solo's on St. Anger when they got a hot shot like Kirk Hammet on lead guitar.

    1993?

I beg to differ. Dark Tranquility, Opeth, Testament, In Flames, Children Of Bodom, Lamb of God, Machine Head, Dred, Iced Earth have all released some great albums over the past few years.

I think Suge meant most modern bands that have come along since that time that have been in the limelight like Slipknot, Papa Roach, Korn, etc.

Some of the modern bands you listed are decent by today's standards and are the exceptions, but a couple have also been around since 80's and kick ass like Testament. Was listening to the song Electric Crown the other day.

Megadeth is far greater than Alternica...

Every album prior to Risk (we'll leave that one alone) was great. The World Needs a Hero was somewhat of a return to form...the System Has Failed, was a full blown return to glory... and in my opinion their latest United Abominations falls just short of the System...

Rust in Peace and the prior albums were all great classics...

...but Countdown, Youthanasia, and Cryptic Writings maybe one of the greatest three consecutive albums in any metal artists catalog...they go together like a trilogy, and compliment one another...their artistic peak in my opinion.

    Mustaine's riffs kill Hetfield.

I should have said 1993-ish...there are of course exceptions, but overall the quality and direction the genre has taken has been a digression, and is inferior to where it once was...the only place it is even arguably moving forward, is on the progressive front...in which case, I don't care and will yield (even though I personally disagree there too)...

I strongly believe Testament to be the greatest band you mentioned, and the only bonafide legends...or all time greats in your list...their greatest release came out in 1994, LOW...which means they produced parts of it in 1993...I am a true Testament fan, and Demonic and all that stuff since has been inferior to LOW.

...the fact that they are greater than the bands that have come after them illustrates, we are not getting any better.

It's a lot like the HW division. :yep

1994 was a good year. Pantera's Far Beyond Driven debuted #1 on the top 200 that year. I've read in different places that was the first time a metal album debuted at #1 but I always thought Quiet Riot was the first in the 80's with Metal Health.

Quiet Riot did it..I believe Skid Row's Slave to the Grind was the first metal band of the Soundscan era though, to debut at number 1.

While it's nothing to be ashamed of, I don't see it as the return to form it's been heralded as. I think their best work is probably behind them. What do you think of it...???

Solid release considering that the core members havent played together in a while. I thoroughly enjoyed Paul B's. drumming on this album.

    Im appalled !!!

Dude I'm sorry but countdown was Megadeths last ok album ( and even then barely ) Killing is my business or rust in peace are waaaaaay better.

I actually felt sorry for Megadeth on the countdown tour , as thats when I saw Pantera support them , after Phil and the boys left the stage you could almost feel Mustaine shitting it thinking " how the **** do I follow that " much as I loved megadeth they were'nt all that great live where as Pantera.......oh mama !

Oh and one more from the old guy, SOAD dont count as Numetal those boys rock , korn etc however can blow me !

    :ldevil :ldevil
