Does anyone remember this boxer? He fought in the 1950's and early 60's in the lightweight division. He was prone to cuts similar to Henry Cooper. He gave Joe Brown a tough fight until being stopped on cuts.
I have bittersweet memories of Rosi, DFW. I was ringside when he beatdown Len Matthews, a favorite of mine from Philly who looked like he was gonna be the next Robinson. Smooth moves and picture punches, but Rossi was Kryptonite for him that night. He beat'm to the punch, double and tripple jabbed, threw tight, accurate combinations -- not pretty, but damn affective. Years later, I saw him as an atmosphere player in the film of "Requiem For a Heavyweight."
I remember watching the Len Matthews fight with Paolo Rosi when I was a kid. I never missed the old "Fight of the Week" . Carlos Ortiz fought Rosi before he won the title from Joe Brown and won a decision but not until Rosi dropped him on the seat of his pants along the way. And I watched both Jackie Donnelly fights. Thanks for the memories guys! It is always great to share information about the good old days with one another.
