It seems a bit odd to me that all these different guys, Calzaghe, Miranda, Tito, and god knows who else, are all saying they can whip the middleweight champ if he fights them at some other weight! WTF!!

The thing is that Tito doesn't plan on retiring, I can't believe it. He has a great record and is going to look like a crappy one if he continues fighting and losing fights. He knows here in P.R. everyone appreciates what he has done over the years, why keep fighting? Already earned millions of dollars.

But of course there is also Don King.

The reason why tito continues down this slippery slope of mediocrity is b/c there is another PR star shining more than he is. He wants to be remembered as the best champ out of PR, not just a good champ but the best. His pursuit of this is going to be his downfall. I can see a string of at least 2-3 more fights that he gets mopped up before he realizes he is ineffective.

    Yep!

Whatever, Tito would not have a real problem with making 160, just an excuse.

How do you know it's an excuse? Why wouldn't he take on Pavlik for the World MW title if he could make 160? He's just fought Jones, so I don't think so they're making excuses for this fight not to happen...

Pavlik should take it, would be a great tuneup for Calzaghe. Theres not much at 160. At 168 he can get Joe & Kessler.

Tito should only fight again in the unlikelihood that Joppy defeats Bute and then wants a rematch with Trinidad.

If Palvik its going to fight above 160, why waste his time against Tito ??? .... he'd make way more money and get more respect for fighting calzaghe

Emamuel Stewart also said that Tito was one of the greatest fighters to ever come along. Compared him to a pit bull that never quits. He said this in 2000 before the Vargas fight. Stewart is an ass kisser.

Puerto Rican Felix Trinidad had also been mentioned as an opponent, but Trinidad’s father said his son would have a hard time making the 160-pound weight limit. Pavlik’s co-manager, Cameron Dunkin, admitted the chances of a Pavlik-Trinidad fight aren’t good.
“Yeah, they’re thinning,” Dunkin said. “We’re looking more at Duddy than we are at Trinidad.
“But we’re still looking at both. It’s not like it’s over.”

    Local paper.

I don't see what this fight would do for Pavlik in the sense that arent champions supposed to defend their belts against top dawgs in the division? Trinidad is hardly that and has lost his last two out of 3 convincingly which took place in a 4 year span.

Tito told Oscar that he has to come to 160, and tells Pavlik that he has to come up to 170.
