Shut the **** up! The Tiger and Carter fights werent robberies. Thats absolute bull****. The third Tiger fight was virtuoso performance by Giardello and the Carter fight was a clear decision by Giardello. And Torres as an amateur or Petrakowski were not as good an experienced professional Giardello. Thats laughable. Hell Torres went life and death in his prime against an older Tiger and barely beat him.

Once again, more bull****. Giardello beat Tiger Jones two out of three fights. Their third fight Jones won a controversial split decision that most felt Giardello won. Papp beat Jones three years later in Jones final fight when Jones had won just 4 of his previous 12 fights. Giardello easily beat Mueller in their first fight. In their rematch, as mentioned above, the Germans denied Giardello access to adequate training facilities and sparring partners and cut the heat to gym he trained at in Muellers home town in the winter. Please, I dont think anyone outside of the voices Ras Al Ghuls head think Mueller had a snowballs chance in hell against Giardello under equal conditions.

Thanks for commenting, cool endeavor btw! Good luck if you continue it! As for boxing, it's really too bad Laszlo never fought for a title in the pros!

Yeah cause Bob Dylan is an expert on boxing. Either watch the fight or continue to be stupid. It was a clean and clear decision for Giardello.

These comments are almost to stupid to reply to. Giardello is without question an all time great and was a guy who never ducked or hid from anyone. He fought Fullmer, Tiger, Carter etc literally all of the top guys in his era while Papp hid in Europe. you can't even compare the two fighters as pro's. Giardello fought Tiger four ****ing times. Think about that. Tiger was a brutally strong fight that physically punished opponents. Gene Fuller was tough as nails as well. Papp was a great amateur but was never special as a pro.

I've done it too, admittedly, but it never ceases to amaze me how willingly people give themselves over to obvious trolls. Like the fly in the spider's web, they flail and struggle to make their point of view understood by someone for whom the subject at hand is of no real interest. The argument itself is the game.

Laszlo Papp was a good boxer even as a pro. He was an active European champion boxing largely out of Vienna iirc, so not even his own country.
The Hungarian authorities in the communist era denied him his shot at the world title and any time politics intervenes in sport like that is a shame.
It would have been nice if Papp had got his title bout vs Giardello.
Who would have won? Joey was a fine champion and has better fighters on his record than Laszlo has, but maybe there could have been an upset.

Just a pity to me Papp didn't get his chance. I think the WBC made him an honorary champion years later.
