Roy Jones - looks vulnerable for the first time against montell griffin
First time he has a rematch, he beats griffin in amazing fashion

Mayweather - looks vulnerable against Castillo for the first time
First time he has a rematch, he beats Castillo much more impressively

Roy Jones - looks vulnerable again vs Tarver
After many years has his second rematch, and gets KOd

Mayweather - looks vulnerable again vs Maidana
After many years has his second rematch

If maidana pulls a tarver that would be a huge coincidence

if maidana is to "repeat history" and win in his rematch with floyd, how do you think it would happen ? i just dont see floyd getting hurt by maidanas punches... even if he catches him with a good shot, floyds got some of the best punch resistance and recovery in the game (not to mention his mental game where he always stays cool calm and collected). maidanas high output could net him a decision seeing as floyds has a low output

Roy Jones was a different fighter though, he relied heavily on his reflexes speed and power, once those left him he had nothing to really offer when fighter a level fighters. Floyd, on the other hand has relies on boxing technique, a sound defense that puts him in a position to counter, and he he often throws safe punches.

That said I scored the first fight a draw, and I have yet to rewatch and it was late at the time, from everybody elses scores there is a good chance mine is off and Floyd had less trouble than it seemed. I believe the only reason he had trouble is because Marcos is a bit awkward, he appears to not care about scoring clean and just throws. It is my belief that Floyd will have this style issue figured out, and we might see it end with a nice check hook.

Dude I am not feeling good about this fight for floyd. I mean hell, in the last fight, Floyd's pull counter was countered and he may would have went down if it would have connected on his chin instead of his chest. So I see decline. Floyd is better than maidana but Father Time is better than floyd.

Plus I always said that I two t be a superstar like PAC that beats floyd. It will be a subpar fighter that catches everyone by surprise, like tarver and buster

Their are no parallels Jones lost because he tested himself against guys that posed a threat ..It happens ..Meanwhile Floyd picks guys who are tailor made for him !Big difference!

I don't think Maidana will win but I just thought of the similarities in the morning and decided to post them just because

I had floyd winning the first one 8-4 and for Maidana I think at best he'll win 4 again

Maidana has to drop Floyd a few times to get a decision, a KO is possible but i can't see it. basically i don't think maidana will "Tarver" Floyd but i'm not writing off his chances of winning but he has to hurt Floyd at some point, easier said than done.

Tarver had a tremendous amateur pedigree, a lot of technique and power and also a size advantage over Jones....... Maidana doesn't really have any of that against Floyd. Like Teddy Atlas would say, "Floyd picked Maidana, Maidana did not pick him."

A draw? Wow, I had it wide but rough the first time maybe 8 to 4 and even wider on repeat viewings, 9 rounds to 3 for Floyd.
