I would favour Parker due to his chin and work rate. Parker via majority decision. Who would you pick to win?
That's what Arum wants. I favour Parker, but its risky with low reward. not sure why his tram would go in this direction for the next fight.
Bryant Jennings whos gone 12 rounds with Wlad and fought Ortiz as well as some other good names, is a big risk. Joes about to go from hard fight to another hard fight if he chooses Jennings. Yeah I think its a risky fight for low reward too.
I see a Jennings fight as high reward in the sense that Parker gets widespread exposure on US TV against a highly credible opponent & enhances the credibility of his championship reign. I also think Jennings' inactivity and bad kayo loss against Ortiz leave him vulnerable against the fight-active Parker. My sense of things is that Jennings is a little shopworn meaning the fight is perhaps not the big risk it might otherwise appear. The other reason I like Jennings as an opponent is that it will give Parker an opportunity to fight where he is based - Las Vegas. Traveling half way around the world for every fight can't be helping him. The number of fighters who have done that successfully over a long period of time is very few. The ones that have are all finished product A-level guys and even they get knocked over occasionally. Parker is still a young developing guy who I don't think should be put in that situation every time he fights.
Jenning's best win was Szpilka. He won through a despicable robbery against Perez, who just wasn't the same anymore after the Mago incident. He got destroyed by Ortiz. Jenning's is journeyman level and Parker is going to end his career once and for all within 4 rounds.
Jennings would definitely be his toughest fight yet. I love Parker's tough choice of opponent, but I think Jennings will beat him. Jennings fights more intelligently and has better timing. People forget the Ortiz vs Jennings fight was very competitive before the KO, and I do not think Parker punches as hard as Ortiz. I think Jennings by wide decision.
Good fight and would probably land on ESPN, I'd like to see it. It would have been nice if Jennings had another tune-up or two before jumping in with Parker. He'll have fought 2 rounds in the last 2 years by fight time. Still a good fight and I'd lean towards Parker to win. A Jennings win would be no upset.
Fighting Whyte in London makes way more sense.. Isn't the goal Joshua vs Parker??? I feel team Parker knows they have a very slim chance of beating AJ
