Dear God, the heavyweight is so weak at the moment, there is realistically two good boxers out there, Joshua and Povetkin.
Surprised so few are voting for Jennings here. Skillwise he is better than Parker. I don't think Parker is anywhere near Luis Ortiz to trouble Jennings with his power or punching technique, and he wouldn't have a size advantage. From how I see it, my only concern is that Jennings could have declined drastically after 2015. Other than that, he should win UD, although it might be close on the scorecards again to bring controversy.
Jennings isn't especially talented. He wins (won) most of his fights on workrate and gutsiness. Parker's considerably faster than him, strings punches together better, and has comparable workrate and heart. Jennings has a jab and some awkward head movement coupled with a solid high guard to make things awkward, but I don't see him being favourite here. He's also very ring rusty and coming off two losses, one an especially brutal one, so it's anyone's guess where his head is right now.
Another challenge has come from Russian Alexander Povetkin, an opponent who would be far more dangerous for Parker given his quality and the fact the fight would probably be held in Moscow. The connections of Chinese heavyweight Zhilei Zhang, a southpaw, have also made an offer, and a fight against either of those two could be held in December, Higgins said. "We have people working through the offers at the moment," Higgins said. "The offers have to be real and they have to be substantial. Joe is currently on a well-deserved couple of weeks' break. Hopefully we'll be in a position in two weeks' time to announce the next step."
