If Parker was Australian, for example, you wouldn't be arguing any of this. And you know it.

Some here are bashing the kiwis for being too "nationalistic" and going overboard in their support of Parker.

But there are others that are making the same or similar points. Like myself, an American.
A main point, made above, is the following.
Before Joe P faced Wilder and Zhang, many, I recall most, thought Joe was the underdog. Ofc AFTER winning both fights, Wilder & Zhang are now deemed "shot" or "never has beens" :shakehead: All the while heaping praise on AJ for his recent winning streak, which included a fringe contender, a shot Helenius, good, but underwhelming Wallin, & Francis N.
I've seen this 'tude so often among boxing fandom that I consider it a feature, not a bug :BangHead:

Meanwhile the AJ lapdogs make endless excuses for him. They have short attentions spans, convenient amnesia, or act like AJs three losses are ancient history. They also seem blind as to what occurred in AJ-Parker I. It is what it is.

I want to see AJ face at least one top 5 HW - like Joe - before I even think about Fury-AJ I or (God help us) Usyk-AJ III.

I don't think Parker stopped Zhang from throwing punches, it's just Zhang has a pretty poor gas tank. And if you can extend him into the 2nd half of the fight your chances of winning greatly increase, it also happened in the Hrgovic fight where Zhang faded badly.

That's one of the reasons i thought Parker had a very good chance to expose Zhang's suspect gas tank. Parker has an above average chin decent boxing skills and is smart enough to extend Zhang into later rounds.

I still don't think Parker matches up well vs Joshua or Joyce if Joyce still has the same form when he fought Parker the 1st time.

There are lots of subtle things Parker is doing in there that frustrate these big punchers

He is becoming more and more masterful at this. "Hit without being hit"

Yes but if Joyce has the same form he did prior to Zhang fight, Parker won't be able to do that vs Joyce who would be all over him again. But we have to wait and see what effect the Zhang fights of had on him.

Joshua is much more skillful than Zhang and Wilder, and as proven in their last fight Parker couldn't outbox Joshua. So Parker has to try and engage Joshua more but that's alot more dangerous, as Joshua has superior skills to Zhang/Wilder and a much more varied offence.

And you believe he learned this, in his 30's, in 18 months. That's pretty funny.

And AJ got smashed by Ruiz. What's your point?

Everyone also thought Parker would get knocked out by Zhang and Wilder inside 6, but when he out boxes them all of a sudden they're not good and didn't throw anything. It's ridiculous.

    1. AJ could have still fought Wilder rather than Wallin. Wilder was game, AJ looked stoked to have not having to face him.

    2. AJ didn't have to fight Ngannou and rightfully mocked Fury for taking the fight only to take it anyway. It's hypocritical.

Parker has been calling Whyte out for years to avenge his loss. Not his fault Whyte keeps ducking.

If you wanna talk about levels I guess AJ has settled on his after Usyk. Fighting Wallin and Ngannou? Top stuff.

Er, no... I said he used it in the first AJ fight. He must have developed it for years in the Ams.

It is just that now he is much more aggressive with it

Like a poster above says Wallin was part of the card to supposedly build the Joshua v Wilder fight and then someone had to take care of Ngannou given that fury was incapable of doing so. Unfortunately after the fury fight the walking heavy bag had quite a bit of hype about him which had to be shut down which thankfully it now has been.

The heavy bag will still have his hardcore fan base of the likes of @Redbeard7/neetzschean however most of the support for him to be a boxer has now gone.

I actually wouldn’t mind a Joshua v Parker fight now. There aren’t many alternatives available and I think Parker probably deserves the pay day more than anybody else. I would expect Joshua to win by either a late KO or reasonably comfortable decision again however.

That's called opinion, not proof. And Parker has gotten a LOT of props of late, and deservedly. But thinking he still loses to AJ is NOT hating.

    Exactly

Parker got a ton of well deserved credit for both recent victories

It wouldn't matter of he was Australian, Chinese or Ukranian. Give credit where it's due.

For the record Usyk is my favourite fighter.

Too many claiming both Zhang and Wilder were completely shot (after the fight funnily enough) is contrary to that opinion.
