Rob McCrackens top level, wicked trainer...AJ could've done more imo against Parker, Parker too, but AJ's the one billed as the destroyer and he fought like he was missing some confidence
Parker is showing his low iq making a move like this. I'm a kiwi so back Parker all the way in the ribg, but this is a ***** move calling AJ out when Wilder clear duck.
I remember Parker ducking out of a Wilder payday too. That shiny wbo belt would have looked good around Deontay's waist. Shame on you Joseph.
Get off the grass. Talking like deontay wanted to fight and Parker didn't? Wilder wants no part of anyone.
He could have done more, but my guess is he did what him and his trainer set out to achieve. He was never seriously exposed, went the distance without the previous signs of gassing, showed good control of distance and sat behind the jab winning rounds comfortably. It's not the exciting fare we've enjoyed previously, but it's probably what's required if you plan on sticking around at the top for any length of time...
I have some inside knowledge of the Wilder - Parker negotiations. Both were keen to unify, but that potential money for fighting each othet was not even close to a Joshua fight.
Parker is right but he narrowly avoided a duck in my eyes with Wilder with the money excuse allegedly (makes sense) but also that's the harder fight for anybody. So he should know what he's talking about but AJ is on another level of scumbag (and I'm being nice) turning down the 50m bag in the easiest to sell to the US ppv market fight imaginable. Outrageous cowardice needs to be called out so I'm glad Parker is saying this. No doubt if he got a huge bag of money he'd have fought Wilder.
That imo will be his undoing..He's not fighting naturally and it showed. Your right though with your assessment, I just feel that he will allow others in with a chance if he fights conservatively..There was no doubt in my mind I could see pure concentration from AJ, a little to much for my liking if that can be possible, I couldn't work out why..Pressure ? Nah, cant see it...I think Parkers better than everyone thinks and AJ's vulnerable to getting hurt, a combo of them two. Might've been sparked in training, I don't know
We have actually been at that point for a while. The americans legitimately cannot stand the fact that their grip on boxing is starting to wane. Back in the days America was really the only country that really took pro boxing seriously, you can include Mexico in that. They had the best amateur system, of course the soviet nations didnt compete as pros, they had the most money, and british fighters were technically inferior and ate a diet of pie and chips. On the last 20 years other countries have caught up, the british amateur system is very good, the former soviet nations now all compete as pros. You look at any american ATG from the past and ask why a fight didnt happen with a foreign fighter and its always the same answer "well mr america was the A Side, joe foreigner didnt come to the states he ducked mr america" Yet now the roles are reversed their egos cannot handle it.
He was trying to fight a totally new style which Robert Mckracken had instructed him to. Prime Wlad was nigh on unbeatable with that style, while less entertaining but he got ktfo 3x being entertaining and Joshua came close to taking a loss doing the same. I don't like it either, if you are going to switch from a boxer/puncher to a backfoot jab right hand merchant thats the kind of thing that takes 4-5 fights to settle into, I dnt like the idea of trying to adapt your style in unifications.
Look at the HW division past and present. Lennox Lewis, Joseph Parker, Tyson Fury all see what every reasonable fan can see. Joshua quack quacking with his tail between his legs.
I'd consider myself a reasonable fan and I don't see it like that. Joshua's record is good, he's moved quickly up the levels and fought anyone put in front of him. He's not fought Wilder, at least at this time, for commercial reasons. If Hearn had said to him this deal is the right one I think he'd have taken the fight.
Anyone calling Joshua a coward with his resume whilst gobbling down Wilder's BS is a hilariously stupid hypocrite. You can hate both but to act like Wilder is some brave champion who ran the gauntlet to get his title is ridiculous.
