Guess Wilder/Zhang is really happening which is good news as that's an interesting clash of huge but flawed punchers and nobody really wanted to see Parker/Zhang 2 as there's little doubt as to who is better. A rematch with Whyte makes sense given the first fight. But given their career trajectories I can only see one outcome and that's Parker winning. Whyte has been in decline since he was KO'ed by Povetkin and his weakness to uppercuts is now well established, while Parker is right now at his peak, never looked better, in better physical shape, ring IQ has jumped to another level, focus dialled into a level it has never been before. But having said that, it's still a fight I want to see, there's history there, Parker gets to avenge one of his 3 losses and Whyte gets to have a final payday before being retired by Parker.
Yep stroke of genius, plus he knows who he's aiming it at, every Brit will know that Take That song and think it's hilarious.
So true, so many fighters don't know how to market themselves, they blame being from a small nation or that everyone is ducking them, then you have Parker coming from a country with about 5 million people, who knows how to sell himself and even get fans who are not from his country. With social media you have a free platform to literally reach millions, there are no excuses in today's market as to why a fighter isn't marketable. If you can't put bums on seats it's because you are not putting the work in. Christ Garcia on his social media presence alone got himself a title fight and made millions.
I watch the Parker calls out early in the morning and i laugh my *** off. This guy made my day. Such a great bloke. He absolutely deserve to take Whyte and Joyce rematch, as in my mine he will win both of this rematches. And currently he is the most deserving guy to challenge for a title.
As long as Parker goes to KO him. I would like to see Whyte very badly KO'd, not just outboxed. The kind of KO I'd like to see isn't like the Povetkin one, even though that would still be acceptable. The kind I'm looking for is a really bad beating followed by a devastating finish. After that I would like to see Whyte continue his career and fight Zhang.
If Prince Naseem can become a star during the 90's a decade still rife with racism in the UK, while boxing in the Featherweight division a very small man division that has never produced a PPV star there's no reason for anyone not to atleast have some decent level of fans or interest among casuals
I don't like Whyte's chances against Parker, Parker is too good and Whyte has nothing to look for against top fighters...
