Surprised to see so many unsold tickets. Even though it's an average card, I thought the casuals would buy it.
People can dismiss low ticket sales but it's a valid indicator of the health of boxing in the country. It's been hit for 6 and not in a good way by matchroom moving to Dazn. Galahad fight would be getting plugs during man utd v man city and west ham v Liverpool reaching millions. Now? Tweets and YouTube only.
He has massively underestimated how important Sky is in the machine, the amount of people that watch the football and cricket and get adverts for Chisora, Whyte etc thrown at them constantly with the hype machine, now they are basically all invisible on DAZN
You say that, but we're always told "it's the proce of a curry". Yeah, well I'm glad to talk numbers on this and see it fail. Paying twenty plus quid to watch a main event with a bloke with 11 losses? Ha, no thanks.
Rightly or wrongly it’s more entertaining to talk about than a Frank Warren card full of mismatches in front of a half empty crowd.
Hearn is on the slide, all that needs to happen is AJ loses again and has no titles and Whyte gets embarrassed by Fury and it's all circling the drain. Because there is nothing on the horizon after Whyte and AJ, who is going to be slinging money to see Benn? Campbell Hatton? Shannon Courtenay? Anthony Fowler? It's a thin stable without much quality, the casuals Eddie targets are starting to understand boxing a little bit and realising those fighters and others are not very good.
Lawrence Okolie is a real talent, although not really a fan favourite. All that could change if he beats Breidis and moves up to heavyweight and wins a couple of decent bouts to get going.
I just think it is funny how ticket sales are being judged 6 weeks out from the event. They only went on sale a few days ago! They have plenty of time to sell them. I don't care either way, just pointing out the obvious.
