Dillian should not be waiting for Joshua. He was a beaten fighter against Parker, and that fight for a variety of reasons was a classic rematch. 9/10 times Parker would beat Whtye, so no wonder Dillian is avoiding a rematch.
I agree. Would like to see Parker switch teams first(doubt that would happen he's too loyal) and get a few rebound wins first though. If he tunes out a few holes in his game he can easily beat Whyte, he's the far more talented of the two by far.
Parker's stock just went up. I had him winning about the same number of rounds against AJ as what Povetkin did. He didn't exit stage left in the middle rounds though. Nor did he get the preparation he needed for Dillian White first time around. Two or three wins in NZ/Samoa/Australia, then back over there to finish what he was 20 seconds away from doing first time around.
Whyte deserved to win the fight on points against Parker. However if the fight would have gone one more round Parker would have stopped Whyte. I would favour Parker if there is a rematch. I had Whyte beating Chisora by 2 points.
I would actually favor Whyte. Seems to be improving as the years go by. Parker has seemed stagnant and at times looked like he had regressed. The first fight was great, the rematch should be even better.
Parker has shown against Joshua/Whyte that his basics are a long way away from where they need to be for him to be considered a 'Elite' member of the division. Guys on here like @CST80 were saying that Whyte had very limited power because he couldn't put down Dave Allen..... Parker would be too quick for Joshua..... Parker will KO Joshua because Joshua has no engine and will get tired..... Right now, Parker has less heart, an inferior engine, worse jab than Whyte.....Let alone Joshua. Only Luis Ortiz is more overrated than Parker.
He does have overrated power, Parker's first knockdown was clearly from a headbutt, the second was legit, but in all likelihood judging by Parker's apprehension after the first KD, he was concussed, with a probable concussion he still finished stronger nearly stopping Whyte in the 12th. So even with two points on Parker, Whyte still needed a gift, and it was a gift. So if that makes Parker overrated, then what's that say about the BUM Whyte? Ortiz hospitalizes that glorified punching bag.
I'm starting to think your anti-Joshua agenda is more of an anti-Brit thing..... 'Probable concussion'.....This is a sport where people take huge whacks to the head ffs. Parker started fast in the 1st round, but after that got bullied and Whyte's style of being more of a brawler took over. The worrying thing is that although it's underrated by many, Whyte's jab dominated Parker's to a fully deserved and comprehensive UD.
I think Parker should start back down the ladder again and build himself back up. Fight a few bums and have a decent opponent every now and then. He will build back some momentum and mature that way. The close loss to Whyte shouldn't necessarily mean that he needs to stay at that level. He's still young and they should cherry pick his opponents and makes his return a worthwhile one rather than just trying to fight the best to stay relevant.
There was defo a mark left after the head clash knock down. Parker come out looking good, whipping in the faster shots, to the body as well, then the head clash, which happened so fast he thought it was a punch..I thought Whyte could've been pulled by the ref at times with sneaky stuff
