I dont know if you guys are aware but Team Parker have clearly stated that they want to fight the best available. This was demonstrated by an immediate offer of a unification bout of the WBO and WBC Wilders title. Stupid? For me its more an expectation based on them clearly stating theyre not afraid to lose. If youre going to dog Wilder for fighting whatever his name is and then dog Parker for fighting a top ranked boxer, you got to ask yourself what do you want from a champion?

This is a good fight guys. We couldnt get Wilder. Ortiz wouldve been huge but Fury I think is good.

Parker will have less trouble stylistically with Fury than he did Ruiz.

If the fights in New Zealand and Parker survives all 12 he will win. Outside of New Zealand he gets smoked.

Hugie Fury's record reads like a freak show. Giving this guy a title shot seems awful.

but this is not a marquee fight.with the exception of fury being tysons cousin and using the fury name.

fury has been an undercard fighter and his last fight v kassi was not even televised in the uk / not his fault the fight before ended in serious injury .

fury has fought in romania/northern ireland/france /usa /and because of lack of power has not really garnered the public attention or fanbase of any of the other of uks ranked heavies.

but he does have talent / he won the heavyweight world youth amatuer title at 18 and no other uk fighter has ever done that.

so its a fight v an undercard fighter that only really has been seen and known about by uk hardcore fans.

when you watch him box you can see he mostly boxes in 3rd gear so it means he is hard to tell how good he is.
also with the exception of rudenko and kassi he has not been matched competitivley and in those 2 fights he coasted to easy wins not putting himself out.

in fact thats the problem with him not getting a big fanbase / he boxes to within himself and its not entertaining.

but talent wise if not power wise he is 6.6 /very relaxed /and has excellent footwork and distance control .

parker will not get plaudits unless he steamrolls him in under 4 and anything other than that he will wrongly receive critism for a fighter in fury i would put in the who needs him catergory of too good/awkward for no reward either financialy or prestiege wise.

Yeah im ok with this fight. All of a sudden Parker has took what seems to be just 1 step up in level of competition and he isnt looking half as good as he was. Putting him in with Hugie Fury certainly isnt taking a step back but not too big a step forward

I don't think Huggie has much of a chance here.
Sure he can box, but he can't keep Parker honest due to lacking the power.

If it goes 12 with Parker fighting on the back foot the whole time, Parker will lose a UD no matter where the fight is.

Each country can have dodgy decisions, but NZ is by no means the worst + I can't see a way for it to be close if Parker doesn't attack.

I just finished watchin some more Hughie Fury on youtube and the more I watch, the more impressive he gets. I wrote him off before because he lowers the lead arm but from what I seen, its not been an issue. Very good and relaxed fighter is Hughie. In saying that, I hope Parker gets this fight.

I love this fight, reason being Parker whoops the fury family. Parker will work strictly on conditioning and beat the **** out of Hughes which will give him first dibs on Getting Tyson in the ring.

Parker lets his hands go something fierce and if you aren't Aj, DW haye type power you aren't beating a Parker. all I really want is to get the furys in that ring with a halfway competent HW to show how over rated and totally average Tyson has always been

Better style match up for Parker. He'll be allowed to fight his kind of fight, coming forward and getting off first rather than pushed back and forced to box.

But this isn't an easy fight for Parker, he is once gain being matched quite aggressively, Fury is no push over. Parker will struggle to land in combination like he is used to as Fury will not be a stationary target or be there to be hit.

I think this could be a very entertaining fight with a nice match of styles. Fury the mobile, boxer looking to counter the faster Parker who is looking to overwhelm Fury with his aggression. Not sure who will win, Parker probably has to be the favourite being the more proven fighter at this point but wouldn't shock me to see another Fury pull off an upset.

I agree with this. It would be a surprised if Hughie poses a threat to Parker. IMO Hughie doesn't have the stamina to keep Parker away for 12 rounds. Parker will get into a comfortable distance after 6-7 rounds and start landing big shots.

Parker just picked up some much needed additional rounds this year and I feel he can bully his way to the inside sooner than later on Fury.
If only Hugie had some POP this might heat up but nahhhhh

actually you are completely right on that point, if he is taken very hard fights you have to credit him, since be give wilder a ton of crap

parkers resume already is way better than wilder, so i would almost excuse him 1 easy defense against someone he can beat easily in he's homestown.

thing is hughie(as much as i love him) can be very very very boring to watch, he beats fighters in first gear and makes them look bad. he is like the rigodueax of the heavyweight division except has maybe even less power

if he is destroying some guy skill wise he never goes for the kill

also most people dont seem to rate hughie at all, so parker losing to a guy who is 21 and most people don't think highly of would be a hell of a fall
