People acting like he suddenly got so much better when he was always decent. He just happened to beat a finished Wilder and a low activity Zhang. Good wins but these are fights Parker could always win in his career due to his style. Not because he’s suddenly become a force to be reckoned with. He may have got a bit better due to naturally working on his craft over time without declining yet but no drastic jumps. His trainer Andy Lee is the most overhyped trainer in the world as well. No other top fighters trainer gets mentioned so much whenever they win. Sounding like the Ben Davison hype for the new and improved Joshua which was all smoke and mirrors.
Parker has fought everyone...put some respect on his name. The only sound, convincing defeat I've ever seen Zhang take...was to Parker. Is he going to beat Dubois? I hope not, but Joseph Parker is NO bum! This content is protected
He’s not a bum but he’s currently being overhyped as something he’s not. There’s a large amount of people picking him to beat Dubois as well. Many upset Joshua fans hoping Parker does the job
Regarding Andy Lee, we will see pretty clearly in the next couple of weeks how is boxers go. One title fight and one eliminator, and he has been good enough to get them there so far. What would definitively put him as an outstanding coach is if the Whittaker rumours are true and he coaches Whittaker to a win in the rematch As a layman I like the way he talks and explains about boxing, its very approachable. And I like the way he talks to his fighters in the corner, actually giving them practical and useable advise in the ring. I think he is getting more popular because of what I said above, his book, and he has the right background, being a former world champion who trained under Steward and Booth.
Dubois can be a bit stiff at times...im waiting to see how slippery and elusive Parker can make himself on fight night. Lets also see how parker take that Dynamite right hand! This content is protected
Whittaker could always beat Cameron he just thought he could stand there and bang then realised he couldn’t. If he goes back to moving he’d have always won the rematch so that would be Andy Lee overhyping again. Same with Parker who was always one of the top heavyweights, never the best but always up there so why is Andy Lee getting so much credit Parker was world champion long before he worked with him.
Parker is boring and needs to be out of the picture. If Dubois is who he was always supposed to be then he’ll get rid of him. A boring heavyweight champion like Parker would be bad for boxing when Dubois is the most exciting fighter in the division.
While Parker is a good heavyweight and at least top 5 right now, I agree in that Parker matched up well stylistically against Zhang and Wilder who are both very low activity power punchers looking for a single KO blow. Dubois has the style, power and gas tank to knock him out. Zhang dropped Parker twice, Dubois finishes the job in my estimation.
lol how can you say he's fought everyone. Just to start with he's not been in with Usyk or Fury the two best of the generation. He's about to be knocked out by Dubois and he'd be decimated by Bakole When was the last time he knocked someone out that?
He is a likable guy. Sometimes people get a bit optimistic about his chances. The version of Wilder that he did fight was terrible, but that wasn’t his fault. But the Zhang win was legit. I don’t rule it out he beats Dubois to win a belt again. I says it’s 60/40 in favor of Dubois.
