I'm getting the feeling that Parker times or counters Dubois into dreamland. I see DD loading up too much and Patker taking advantage of that. I won't put money on it, just a feeling.
Bakole and Parker have sparred many rounds and yu don't hear the usual BS from Bakole and his team how the dominated sparring ..KO's etc From what I heard Parker and Bakole had some wars so not sure Bakole is as keen to call him out
Odd as it sounds, the jury is still out on Dubois in my head. He has a good recent run, but I'm still to be convinced he's the next big thing. Parker is the same to a degree... Never quite lived up to his potential (with hit and miss performances) but, again, on a good run. Whose recent good run equals being the better fighter? This is a good fight and will tell us a lot about these guys. Fair play to them both for taking it. I have a sneaky feeling Paker might pull it off!
A former world champion and top 5 in the world about to have a title fight, potentially a crack at undisputed. How many more tiers are there?
I think Dubois will beat Parker this Saturday and by KO/TKO. But, that doesn't mean Parker is a hype job - he is a good fighter with good fundamentals and is classy in and out of the ring - Ruiz, Chisora x2, Wilder, Zhang are all good wins - he deserves this title shot. In terms of improvement, I think he has defo improved since the AJ fight, and this also comes from experience as he has been in there with some big big punchers in Ruiz, AJ, Joyce, Zhang and Wilder. I think AJ V Parker now would be much closer than their fight in 2018 and I think the Parker of 2017/18 would lose to Zhang, maybe Wilder but Wilder is shot to bits these days. If Parker wins @Can I box you and myself will have to give in and accept we were disproven about his chances against Dubois, and you have to also accept that he is not a hype job if he beats Dubois.
Parker has always been incapable of being in that top tier of the current generation due to his lack of killer instinct and spite. He’s upper tier 2 in terms of heavyweights of this generation
Parker is honestly a good fighter, but I'm just not confident in his chances. Although, its possible Dubois might gas out and the tide can turn. Style-wise - Joyce and Usyk were always horrible for Dubois, but I just think Parker suits Dubois quite well.
i think both are generally regarded as better than they really are. they aren't apprentices, but far from getting their masters. if they were jr welters they would be like a matias and a sandor martin levels. dubois has room to grow. parker is getting smaller every day. in performance levels i would put them at 3rd tier. usyk is the only 1st tier fighter at hw. a 2nd tier would be someone more complete, but not elite. its hard to predict fights between guys on equal tiers, as ive said before, incomplete fighters are always vulnerable to something. its the opponents job to exploit that vulnerability. thats where a good coach comes in.
Ruiz close fight, Hughie Fury close fight, Chisora 1 close fight, Zhang close fight, when is he going to win with an outstanding performance?
