I think the punches are now MUCH harder.

    Only reason to do it

Indeed. It's impossible to determine who Parker's top 5 stoppage victims are because the level is so low. Dimitrenko is likely the standout but he was past his best and was stopped by Pulev's jab in his prime.

If we start with 18-0 Parker's first major step up at 24 he's failed to stop:

Takam, Ruiz, Cojanu (!), Hughie, Joshua, Whyte, Fa (!), Chisora, Chisora, Joyce, Massey, Wilder, Zhang

Parker's got a 35% KO/TKO ratio in his last 20 fights and even old Leapai seemed to be going the distance before the 10th round mercy stoppage.

In fairness he dropped Whyte once and Chisora x3 in their rematch.

Dubois has shown vulnerability and there's a first time for everything but you'd have to think that a Parker stoppage win is very unlikely, especially given that he would be looking to box defensively for 12 rounds against Dubois.

Parker also has a high mileage with all those extended and distance fights, hitting the deck twice against Whyte, once against Chisora, once against Joyce (KO) and twice against Zhang.

Dubois performed better against all of his mutual opponents with Parker, destroying Cojanu in 2, buzzing Joyce a bit early and being ahead on points legitimately after 7 rounds despite being green at the time and starching Joshua in 5. 2-1, 2 KO's vs 1-2, 0 KO's.

I see Dubois being the favourite though not by too much, so he's likely the value bet too.

It's a poor argument because the sample size is precisely one and we are talking about Usyk who is relentless in his pressure; all variables have to be accounted for. Parker isn't going to be applying the pressure Usyk was applying, nor does he have the skills to make such as event happen. It's a poor argument because your equation is oversimplified. It's a poor argument because Parker is going to be on the back foot running around the ring before he gasses out and gets put over, again.

His matches against Takam and Ruiz were close, and I thought Ruiz beat him. I had Hughie Fury as a comfortable winner. Both were shocking, but Hughie Fury landed more featherfisted jabs on Parker than anything Parker landed on Hughie Fury. I had Fa beating Parker, too.

He only dropped Whyte because Whyte was absolutely shattered and had blown a gasket.

You don't truly believe Parker has zero chance. We can agree to disagree on the outcome, but that is silly.

The way you described it very well may occur, however I think that Parker with the right gameplan has the juice to avoid Dubois big punches and deploy a smart offense. We shall see, fun fight.

We'll just have to disagree on that
    I think it's definitely relevant

But it will be interesting to see if Parkers team get it right this time

The only fights that Parker dominated when he won by decision were average journeyman Cojanu and a 1980 Ali version of Wilder. He beat decent cruiser Massey and faded Chisora 2 clearly but they were still competitive. The nine others were either close/subjective or Parker lost.

I give Parker credit for taking the fights with Joyce, Wilder and Zhang as the underdog though, especially beating Zhang. He's shown more guts since Chisora 2. But I don't believe there's been a great breakthrough as some do, he's merely somewhat better than he was and even then his punch resistance (which has already likely eroded) could start failing him any time now.

    Nope

    Parker has revolutionized his game

And we will continue to see the fruits of this change

Well using your logic high volume pressure fighter like Usyk should have more KOs then, should he not?

You're fixating on Parkers one loss against Joyce, and his knockdowns against Zhang (a fight he still won) while ignoring the fact that Dubios has been TKO'd twice with jabs.

You're not very consistent tbh, and I'm sure you predicted the same outcome against Wilder and Zhang.

This 'Usyk knocked him out with a jab' has to stop. In his head, Dubois had won that fight. He dug Usyk to the body and he collapsed like a cheap deck chair a fat man had just sat on. Now, I'm not up for debating the low blow again, but if anyone has ever fought, when you think it's over, the chemicals in your body change. The adrenalin abates. The fire in your eye and you belly slowly but inevitably goes out. Then bang. Fights back on. Now, yes, he showed emotional immaturity, yes maybe even mental frailty. But one thing he wasn't was knocked out with a jab. So, putting all that to bed....

....at this point, Joe, who I really like, is steam rollered by Dan who is exponentially improving. He will, simply, batter Parker. Heavy thudding jab and straight punches from the outside, he's a better in fighter and he is stronger. Real strength not gym strength. He stops Joe against the ropes about the 8th for me.

Parker's resurgence has been Lazarus like, but he is a guy who went life and death with Dillian and Dell. A guy who beat the shadow of Wilder's shadow. He beat an immobile 40 year old with an engine running on 6 of its 8 cylinders and that runs out of puff walking up a slight hill. And was knocked down several times doing so. His big wins are only admirable because he had the bollocks to take them, but with the clarity hindsight always gives us, they are not great wins. And they are nothing compared to Miller, Hrgovic and AJ.

Dubois busts up Joe. Plain and simple.

    So, Parker by KO then....

I doubt that Parker actually raised his game. He beat two aging, low output guys who banked on knocking him out. Dubois should outwork him.

You are missing the point entirely, once more. It's the amalgamation of skills and attributes that make things like being stopped with a jab possible. Parker boxed two old men either side of forty in low volume matches. Unlike the aforementioned old men, Dubois is neither shot or severly lacking in stamina. To the contrary, he has very good stamina and he is in his prime.

All of this will become evident and the excuses will flow once he puts Parker over. Parker would be stopped by the likes of Hrgovic and he would be obliterated by Martin Bakole (Congolese heavyweight boxing out of Airdrie, if you are unfamiliar with him).

Rubbish. It comes down to Dubios lack of defence and inability to handle evasive and tricky opponents. Miller, Hrgovic and AJ made the mistake of trying to stand and trade. Unfortunately for them Dubios hits like a mule.

Did it ever occur to you Wilder and Zhang were low volume fights because Parker is skilled enough to evade their punches and make them uncertain about throwing? Parker was a massive underdog in both fights, and most here predicted he'd be knocked out.

Hrgovic has shown to be unmotivated in the ring, and Bakole is laughably overrated after beating a green Anderson. Parker would beat both. Until then let's see how he handles Dubios.

You are completely deluded. Fanboy extreme.

Only Hrgovic could've realistically made an effective stylistic change. Miller had no other option. Joshua didn't try to stand and trade with Dubois. Dubois forced himself upon Joshua who was caught early while boxing tentatively.

Wilder is always low-volume and Zhang isn't a high-volume boxer, because his stamina is poor. Both are old men, and that's a fact.

Parker would be obliterated by Bakole, but wouldn't need to take as much of a pummelling as he did against Joyce because Bakole would get him out of there quicker.

Parker has next to no chance of beating Dubois and has an even slimmer chance of beating Bakole, a match that'll never happen.
