People treat Parker like he belongs with the oldies - such as Wilder, Usyk, Zhang, Fury.

Actually, he is only now coming into his prime at age 32, and he really belongs with the "next" cohort of maturing HW's.

Now that he is finally finding his best style, etc, expect him to dominate while the oldies fade away.

Parker is not the "4th best" of the old era. He is among the brightest of the "new"

From an age perspective yes. From a historical standpoint he became a relevant contender and WBO champion when he was like 24 and the last era was just getting started in 2016. So he will be identified mainly as part of that era.

Hes like 3ish years younger than AJ. With generations theres got to be a "last guy out first guy in" somewhere.

    Parker turned professional 2012.
He was 7-0 before Usyk pro debut.
He was 9-0 before Zhang debut.

THIS RIGHT NOW is Parker's era.
He deserves a title shot right now.

He maybe only 32 but he's got a lot of miles on the clock already. Yes he's prime now but I doubt he'll be fighting until 37-38 like the top guys now because of all the damage he's sustained over the years, especially as he has always been a fighter who looked for tough fights.

So I say this is his era. If he does somehow hang around after guys like Joshua, Fury and Usyk retire and ends up besting the next crop of heavyweights like Dubois, Hrgovic, Anderson, Jalolov etc then that would be incredible, unlikely but incredible and would probably result in people looking at the quality of this era, differently.

Parker was very young - and not ready - when he fought AJ.

He was a champ before his time

But now all can see his Prime has begun - and this is a new era in his life

I am picking he will dominate now as all the "oldies" fade

if he finds a way to inherit the belts he may yet find himself in the hof. i dont see any obvious insurmountable obstacles for him in the next 3 years, other than usyk. then some of his losses could be partly attributed to growing pains. he has shown obvious improvement with each stern test. personally, i see his improvements more mental than technical, but one helps the other.

In a perfect world, I would love the usyk v Fury winner to fight Aj v Parker winner and imagine it was the same card?

We are not in a perfect world, but that would be awesome

He might have 4-6 years left depends on how things play out. I've always liked Parker and when he was coming up and among those who touted him as a blue chip prospect. I think he lost his way for a while and wasn't fighting to the best of his abilities, but the loss to Joyce appears to have lit a fire under him. Best thing for him now is to stay continue staying active against top competition, being inactive and fighting subpar opposition is what hurt him for a long time(Barry probably deserves some blame too)

I'm not so sure about that Parker has been in alot of tough fights and has considerable mileage on him already.

Realistically he probably has a few more years at the top before father time and all the tough fights catch up to him.

I disagree this time actually, it doesn't matter what age you are, the very top level at HW isn't for everyone. Parker has some wear on him.

If he sticks around after fury/joshua/Usyk retires then he will get knocked out by ddd.

I think he deserves to be the champion.

    He has done enough.

I want him to beat Dubois next

    AJ can fight Kabayel meanwhile

    Winners can fight each other.

Saudis will have money for all that.
