Actually I've acknowledged the holes, and of course I'm going to get in behind him - what I laughed at was someone calling him slow and making out like his punching is poor in form, I would say that no matter where he was from. THAT I'm betting is probably coming from a pom, who mostly act like anyone who isn't British is overhyped.
Jesus Christ Mad*****ter..... People like you are THE reason why the term Brit**** exists to describe a lot of British boxing fans.
Parker has no defense, was eating some nasty shots in there. He's a decent prospect but nobody in their right mind would pick him over Joshua. Dillian Whyte would also KO him
Difference is here I am giving AJ and other guys credit where it's due and recognizing where Parker has holes, not just vice-versa. Parker has plenty of time to develop, I haven't said I think he'll beat Joshua because that'd be foolish - but it's not sheer moronic like the British who seem to think Joshua would put Parker away in the first round or two. You are right, Parker hasn't fought anyone who is going to make him have to worry about the likes of Joshua - but then Joshua hasn't fought anything remotely like Parker either. Parker did let things get a little sloppy, though he was obviously measured about what he got into and was confident it was going to work for him. Anyway, Duco are looking for a Pom for him to fight. Let's see you guys bag your own when they get sparked.
At this point he's offensively gifted enough to beat almost everyone save for Wlad, and maybe Povetkin, or Joshua. I'd have a Joshua fight as a pickem. He beats Wilder, and Fury. Just my opinion. Yeah he's got holes in his defense, those probably won't matter until he cracks top 5. This content is protected
Don't think he jumps ahead of Joshua, but he evens it up. To compare their best two wins, Meehan probably had the better overall career, but Johnson was probably less shot and had never been stopped. Joshua stopping him that quickly was more impressive. After that, fairly even, Sprott better career than Tupou, but Tupou more prime. Parker has seemed to have more a more diverse opponent base skill wise, I think he's shown more in some ways than Joshua. Overall, resume very similar, but I'd give an edge to Joshua for amateur pedigree and for better size and ostensible skill (my one hesitation is Parker has proven his chin more than Joshua).
I don't think there's much in it to be honest. I think Parker has been finishing off his opponents in more devastating fashion, as in actually knocking them out, but Joshua has the better amateur career and has blasted all his opponents out effortlessly and quickly.
