Fellow HW, sparring partner, gym mate, and friend of J-Park, Nick Campbell who has also sparred about 60 rounds with Dubois gives his breakdown of the fight. He says J-Park is much stronger, fitter and in better condition now and that we're going to see a different version of him in this fight. Despite his loyalty to J-Park, he seems like an honest and fair chap and is trying to be unbiased This content is protected He also said in another interview that Kabayel who he's also sparred is super fit and is one of the fittest HWs he's ever sparred. That could be key against Big Bang given his tendency to gas late
Whether it will transfer into the ring or not remains to be seen but the fact he said J-Park is a lot fitter despite being heavier and stronger bodes well for him if true for those concerned the added weight and muscle might affect his gas tank. No worries
Surely there is a point where power stops due to additional weight considering it’s mostly genetics anyways I still believe punchers are born not made so doubt he’s going for power is he preparing for some clinching with the stronger man?
His weight v JJ was flabby - but they do say he was very sick in the weeks before so the diet went out the window... that was pre Lockharts influence and now JP is training and eating like an elite athlete for the first time in his career. So the weight gain is good weight that hopefully doesn't slow him down He isn't going to be suddenly a heavier hitter than DD so his he needs his speed to frustrated DD Dubois breaks mentally before physically but he is riding high on self belief atm so will take some beating. Backing JP though to break him down
physics to a point but there is more to it than that. Has your technique improved also with additional hours gloved up? Look at shear size of fury yet his punches are powderpuff. Based on physics jarrell miller should be hardest puncher in world he weighs about 5 tonne
Parker said he bulked up for the Zhang rematch because he thinks he had him worked out and being heavier he could take and give more without gassing like Zhang. But now he is fighting Dubois so hoping to lose weight. Also I think we are underestimating just how bad Parker's S&C was before George Lockhart for an athlete at his level. Effectively he is now at a more "natural" weight which he would have been earlier in his career if he had at the S&C support a star athlete, like Joshua, has had from the start. Parker is Samoan after all so has probably been working hard to stay under 250 his whole career.
Parkers going to have to be big, strong and conditioned if he wants to hang in with Dubois. Parker was hurt against Joyce and Zhang. He won the latter but it must have taken something from him. Dubois on the other hand is at his physical peak and as good a chin as Parker used to have, he'll need some serious guts, stamina and ability to keep DDD off him...which I don't think he can.
Agree with the first paragraph, not the second. Dubios has been TKO'd twice by jabs, whereas it took Joyce 11 rounds to grind Parker down. Parker gets the stoppage imo.
J-Park has been down twice against Whyte, once against Chisora and twice against Big Bang but in his defence they all pack serious power. Dubois has been down against Big Joe Joyce albeit he voluntarily took a knee due to the eye injury. Three times against Lerena albeit again he voluntarily took a knee for two of the KDs due to injury. Twice against Usyk. But he showed a good chin against Hrgovic and AJ and in his defence, as said, some of the KDs were due to injury and Usyk and Lerena have underrated power. J-Park chin>>Dubois Dubois power>>J-Park But both can hurt each other
