Because its easier. It all come down to not wanting to put in the road work. All the same, I wish Parker well. If he becomes a 2-time titlist, he ha cemented a fine legacy of his own.
Dubois said no mas with a broken orbital bone against Joyce. Against Usyk he was completely shattered, as strong as he was early in that fight Usyk just wore him down which is what Usyk does. Parker does not fight like either guy.
Parker has a stronger chin and lasted twice as long against Joyce. He doesn't "get exhausted" and take a knee.
Dubois lasted to round 10, Parker lasted to round 11. Joyce had a different approach in both fights though.
Also, most of the time the triangle theories don't work. Ali had a way tougher time with Frazier and Norton than Foreman, but we know who won their fight.
Bumping my own thread. This is worse than i predicted. I predicted 256 lbs and somehow he managed to come in 267 lbs. LOL.
Parker took 300 punches and 200 power punches, Dubois took 150 punches with 100 of them being jabs. Not a good thing taking so many punches, but it shows what a grind it takes to genuinely get Parker out of there. Not many heavyweights could throw 800 punches over 10.5 rounds. Plus Joyce is pretty heavy handed, not a small puncher by any means.
Parker will be fine, he will show the same speed but more power and is experienced enough to manage his stamina well. Also he doesn't look any fatter, just put on more mass, with a shave and a tan he'd look pretty good.
