Of all fighters right now, for Parker this makes the most sense....

Wtf retire after 20 odd fight and one big event under your belt? That’s madness, he needs to build himself back up. Fight Miller, Whyte, Breazeale, Pulev , Povetkin guys like that and get himself back to a mandatory position.

No. He can make good money fighting in the UK and continuing to build on his profile with British fans. Fights with Whyte (whom he'd smash up), Chisora, maybe Bellew or Haye, or one of the upcoming lads, with a potential rematch with Joshua down the line, could all make him a very wealthy man. That doesn't seem to be his modus operandi though.

It depends if he truly still wants to carry on and if he can improve. Hes gone 12 rounds with Joshua, not many can boast that and he will improve from this experience but we want to see the improvement in the technical skills department. Just because you're kiwi it doesnt mean you have to coached by Kevin Barry. Somewhere out there is a trainer or a bunch of trainers that can improve Joe and finding that trainer(s) is another thing.

Nah. As easy and surprisingly simple as it was tonight for Joshua, Parker is still young and one of the best in the division.

The mark of a good fighter (some say great) is how they react after a defeat, how they come back.

It has to be remembered Parker wasn't blitzed, he wasn't beaten up, he just dropped a decision in a poor fight.
He is only 26 years old, he can go away, fix a few things and come back stronger, lots of good fights out there for him and some good money to be made.

I really like him, he is a true Gent, he has conducted himself throughout the build up and afterwards with class. He is a credit to family, his Team and his country.

Now is a time to support him, not tell him to retire.

    His stock went up.
Unless something happens he will challenge for titles in the future for sure.

A fight against Whyte or Fury could net him a 7 figures

Too young to retire especially for a heavyweight. He can still make good money and get good fights.

this is already the second fight in a row where Parker looked like CRAP. last fight against Fury was unwatchable... and this was almost as bad... maybe we shouldn't blame Joshua for such a bad fight??

Have to add, Hearn has said AJ will probably be dropping a belt or two at some point, he'll have to because of mandatories and governing bodies and that's why the window for Wilder is closing.

So there could be a belt or two floating around for Parker to fight for and get himself another big unification somewhere down the line.
