Still one dimensional and is going to have to work inside a much bigger man HOWEVER is smart enough to try and box...but that is going to leave him at perfect range for AJ....

lets see what that chin is made of

Is this really recent, I got sucked the last time thinking how good Parker was looking only to find the footage was 4 years old..

Parker isn't going to stand in front of Joshua and let the bigger man have his way

The game plan is to frustrate Joshua, allow him to wear himself down before Parker picks him apart and breaks him down in the later rounds. You can be sure he will give AJ angles so his straight punches are not landing clean. Even if they do, with Parker's chin, he will smile at Joshua's offence, which will demoralize AJ as he slowly understands that his power alone will not be enough to overcome Parker.

I'm very confident Parker is more than capable of executing the game plan perfectly.

Parker always looks amazing in the gym punching at a stationary hand.

Parker isn't one dimensional. He doesn't excel at much of anything but he's able to implement most things.

Yeah I blew the whistle on that footage when it went around, the footage in this clip is DEFINITELY from the last few days. Over a month out and he's already looking in better shape than for Fury.

Movement looks nice, he's looking like he's going to come in better shape than he has for over a year BUT the lack of focus on what might be coming back to him in these pad drills bother the hell out of me. Seriously, I was no professional fighter and in pad drills I'd have been whacked for dropping my guard the way he still often does doing these sessions. It may seem pedantic but imho with basic defensive fundamentals they need to be an instinctive part of setting up and throwing punchse, you want to have a certain amount of defense already set up instead of relying on reactions after the fact - if someone can position / feint things nicely and you're leaving openings then you're going to get collected.

I really hope there is more to their routine than this, I know it'd be foolish to think they're keeping stuff hidden but the habit Parker has of coming in with his chin etc freely available makes it feel like it's a thing they're more than happy to overlook. NOT something you do with AJ.

Generally speaking, anyone with Maori blood has a chin like granite.......but AJ is a very big puncher.

I think Parker should've moved to the US a couple of years ago and got a world class trainer.

Of course this is not all he does. You are seeing a 20-sec clip!!

Of course, though I've also been watching him fight professionally since his debut and you'd think that if he was working harder on that kind of thing we'd not have seen him getting countered by someone like Razvan Cojanu in the last year... makes it hard to not think this and other clips aren't a really inaccurate summary of what they do - which seems to be to try and come up with awesome punch combinations, not worry about what happens if the other guy has their own ideas which don't include staying in the planned range or not punching back.

I really really really hope that they have done something quite different more recently, and I'm really hoping there is much more than what is at face value but this would all assume a hugely different approach from them when if they were going to change the approach they should have done it ages ago.

If what most people expect to happen, and that Joe leaves his chin out and AJ drops him like a sack of spuds then it's time to move on from Barry imho.

    Well yeah, them too.

Given they are so proud of this, my hopes are a little rattled. I do like that he is getting in shape and working on movement so much though, no doubt should be a fun fight but it'd be a lot more fun if Parker could win it!
