Joyce is heavy-footed but he's usually doing the right thing with his feet. Wilder rarely does and I suspect it's not impossible for Joyce to use his heavy jab and heavy-but-educated feet to put Wilder in the ropes where Wilder has proven to be inept.

What this means is Parker now has big money and promotion behind him - whoever he fights

The same platform that made AJ famous and brought Hearn to success.

Wilder is also lightening quick, so he'll always beat Joyce to the punch. Not too sure about respective reach advantages, but Wilder has shown he can keep his opponents away with a solid body punch (Fury 3, first round). I would pay good money to see that fight though.

When Wilder throws - his motion is quite fast. Certain faster than Joyce. But Wilder mis-timeds lots of stuff and his feet just tend to not put him in the right place at the right time. The range of both is more or less the same.

As for Wilder's body punching in Rd 1 of the 3rd Fury fight. Yes, it was good. But he abandoned it in the next round. Even when a fighter has learned new technique, there's always that temptation to fall back on what they are most comfortable with under stress. That's what Wilder did.

Wilder has some real mileage on his odometer now courtesy of those 3 Fury fights. His two earlier fights with Luis Ortiz were no picnics, either, particularly that first one. And he's only a few months from his 37th birthday. His decline is imminent if it is not already here (and it might be).

My guess is that Wilder wants one comeback fight and he then expects to be named a mandatory challenger somewhere. That, of course, assumes that Fury is not holding all four belts. I don't think he has any interest in a lengthy comeback campaign.

It's hard to miss timing on a shot against a relatively static opponent. Joyce is not exactly young either, and you also have to compare their level of opposition.

Sure, overall Wilders resume is pretty light, but compare their last 5 fights. Wilder has an advantage because he's used to fighting contenders and champions, whereas Joyce is still fighting journeymen and fellow prospects.

Remember the old saying about the unmovable object meeting the irresistible force?

This is kind of like the weightless object meeting the immeasurable force.

People don't realize what a huge boost it is to have a big $$$ network behind any fighter

    Good question

But I think Parker will have more TV promotion behind him now than he has ever had

    Tested against Dubois, Takam, Usyk?

He took massive shots against Dubois that have been destroying other opponents and he's never ever looked hurt.

Only time he got hurt was vs Jennings, by a body shot.

Dubois is trash, Takam is shot and Usyk toyed with him instead of going for a knockout. What's your point?

Dubois has great power, and Joyce took some insane shots.

Dubois may have weaknesses, but he has good hands with good power. Watch Joyce vs Dubois and see what I mean.

Watch Dubois and Bryan. He was awful.
