Parker is George Foreman size - who we used to think of as MASSIVE even as an old man. I think this fight is way more competitive than expected. It's gonna be ugly and drawn out.
lol... the fight was stopped early and you know it. takam was fighting back.. he was cut yes but he wasn't hurt when it got stopped.. Joshua was starting to huff and puff and the ref new it he would of probably still survived the final 2 rounds but they had to keep that 100% ko streak "alive" .
To me Parker has won a small battle on the scales..... this fight is being taken into his territory of speed, and Joshua has conceded that to him. Okay, we all knew AJ would come in lighter than vs Takam but not this light. I'm pretty sure this is the first time he has so blatantly tailored his approach to counter a strength in his opponent. Of course, it might prove prudent but it shows he sees Parker as a real threat. Parker, on the other hand, has seemingly just done his own thing, irrespective of who he's sharing the ring with.
Skills can over come size. Otherwise this guy would have beaten everybody http://static.boxrec.com/thumb/3/3c/Bruno-White.jpg/300px-Bruno-White.jpg This what a blown up light heavy done to him https://media.gettyimages.com/photo...e-trade-blows-during-a-bout-picture-id1791199 http://media.gettyimages.com/photos...=9UunwzPzi568oyteZMoeJ6B0aPp-yN5BSB3-YREfceY=
Joshua won' be rushing in like that again though. He literally ran into the punch. I think Joshuas judgement of distance is very good and if he doesnt make mistakes like that he will beat Parker comfortably
I agree. Do you believe Joshua's power could be slightly diminished coming in this light? And also could his resistance suffer? Parker looks to have a very good chin, this could be a long fight.
Short answer is.... I dunno, lol. I mean AJ could be more explosive at this weight, or he might lack power because, after all, he's shed a lot of muscle. He wasn't tubby vs Takam. For me, Parker is a live dog at these weights. But because he can't win this fight at range he needs to have a chin as good as he claims and enough power to make AJ hesitant. As soon as anyone steps into his range, Joshua unloads, so Parker has to go punching with a puncher.... and that's usually a recipe for some canvas. Parker has to hurt him early and put doubt into Joshua's mind. I reckon we'll know if there's a chance of an upset after the first couple of rounds...
Why would anyone think Takam would of stopped AJ in the last three rounds? He had been systematically broken apart, barely won a round and AJ was hardly gassing as many say he was. IMO the stoppage simply saved Takam from an imminent KO or wide shut out decision.
If Joshua had a jab like Frank Bruno and used it a lot I could see Parker struggling to get inside, but Joshua's jab is average at best and he barely uses it.
You need to stop buying into conspiracies, Takam was taking more punishment and throwing nothing back, he had absolutely zero chance of stopping Joshua so why leave him in there just to satisfy the casual fans, his well being was at stake with no chance of getting the win! As for Joshua huffing and puffing, he had about 4 minutes of boxing left I don’t think he was about to keel over of his own accord and Takam certainly wasn’t going to stop him.
Not if the Skelton fight is any guide, that was the last time Joshua was at this weight and he blew a normally durable Skelton away with power punches
