Parker doesn't have the stamina to sustain the pressure needed and his t-rex arms would have him working from the outside trying to get in against Wilder. Parker also has defensive issues as well. Wilder's bread and butter straight right hand, he could get from distance. He loses to Wilder, and AJ for that matter. To beat Wilder, you're going to have to have good defense and ring IQ to go along with some pop. Parker should still be developing but then again he has a fanbase that would stay with him if he takes a loss. The only problem, a bad loss that takes years off his boxing career.
Stamina isn't going to matter if he can get Wilder out of there before he tires out. You said Parker has defensive frailties? While that may be true so does Wilder. Parker has better technique, footwork, punch variety and from the look of things power. It's a very dangerous fight for Wilder. Parker is far more complete and dangerous than anyone Wilder has faced. Hell, Molina who set to face Parker while he was still in the prospect stage until being plucked away by Wilders team managed to badly stun him. atsch
Ortiz may be the best fighter of all the ones you listed. Ortiz has some heavy ass hands. I'm just ready to see these top guys start fighting each other. Wilder keeps facing people that just stands there and takes a beating. Arreola was pathetic
Parker isn't getting past the jab, he'll be on the outside looking hopeless. He better get his skills up, fight some taller guys for practice.
atsch Pretty much everyone who Wilders faced since winning the title has managed to get past it and bust Wilder up at least a little but Parker doesn't? Arreola was able to walk Wilder down and get past the jab, wasn't until he really slowed down and offered literally NOTHING did Wilder start teeing off with the jab. Well done to Wilder.. He teed off and jabbed a moving heavy bag
Parker has terrible footwork and I would give the edge to Wilder in the power department. Agree about shot variation and technique.
Parker got power and chin but is not that big rangy HW and is there to be hit,he also has stamina issues and isnt very fast as well. His performance vs Takam was mediocre. But still miles better win than any on Wilder`s resume.
Agree, although if you meant hand-speed, Parker is exceptionally fast. His biggest problems against Wilder are: - size / reach - a little less power - defense - stamina (if he doesn't sort it out) His advantages over Wilder: - chin - hand speed (but negated somewhat by Wilder's size) Definitely a good fight.
I meant more like movement around the ring, hes not light on his feet. From what i have seen he just stands in front of his opponents, also no head movement, and thats kinda bad vs big punchers. Still wanna see Parker vs Wilder or Joshua tho or even might add Ortiz in the mix.Big punchers against each other at its best.
