Even though Wilder is massively overrated. Parker is even more so, I see Wilder controlling him with the jab all day long and knocking him out eventually.

Parker vs Povetkin/Browne first, Parker needs to be in with an elite puncher first.

I want to see him against Hammer or Schwarz in November - December. Take some time off before facing someone better (Joshua - Wilder/Ortiz winner, Miller etc.) in Spring - Early summer.

I don't think it's that bad. He showed some decent head and upper body movement last night and I liked how he caught shots on his hands much like Joshua has learned to do. But Parker needs to counter when he picks off an opponents punches like that.

Parker's main issue is he lacks real understanding of the craft of boxing and that's his corners fault. He's talented but skill wise he's so basic and just fights one way.

    Where was the counter punching?

He had no idea how to prevent Hughie clinching him.

His jab is a nothing punch, it's basically just a feint to set up his right hand, but because he does it so often it's just a tell now for opponents to let them know a right hand is coming behind it. He needs a more authoritative jab, one that can snap a head back and score points or can be used to control range.

Where was the infighting? Create space to punch with his head, shoulders and elbows then fire in short hooks and uppercuts, but we saw none of that. Parker without a jab or infighting is basically a mid range fighter, if you can keep him at arms reach or get inside on him he becomes ineffectual.

As much as we ridicule wilder I do think right now with wlad gone and Tyson fury as good as gone we may need to face the fact wilder is number 2 or 3 in the division.

Parker? I do like him I like the way he conducts himself he is a good down to earth honest fighter but that 3 or 4 fights in a row where he has looked nothing better than a plodder where he has no cleverness up in his brain and neither do his training team. At this level you can't just go out there and slug it out you have to earn your opportunity to land your power shots.

You can't judge Parker off last night. He was fighting a wimp whose plan was to not get hurt too badly.

I don't think Parker is average at all, fast hands with decent power and willing to fight is hard to come by in this time, combine that with great cardio and you have a heavyweight fighter that's everything but average.

He's was coming forward with pressure and was chasing the KO for 12 rds last night, that's impressive!

Povetkin makes easy work of Parker, Parker v Browne would be an epic fight.

Parker's lucky he's in this HW division. He'd never win a title in the 90s or 2000s.

I'd pick Whyte and Breazeale over him, AJ takes Parker out inside 4 rounds

I think Parker would be cannon fodder for both Wilder and Joshua.

I truly believe Pulev beats him.

I very rarely pick Wilder to beat anyone but anytime I see Parker he just looks so bad. Makes me laugh at when they originally said he could be AJ's bogeyman around the time of the Whyte fight.

What I seen last night from him was bad movement, bad footwork,no power,no real tactics, falling into all of Fury's traps and he just looked so clumsy. There were times he was charging into the ropes throwing fresh air punches about 5 seconds after Fury had moved away. He was seriously lucky Fury is so feather fisted.

    Don't believe the hype

His hand speed would kill both of them 2 and if he came in light and set a pace he would batter both convincingly.

I agree. You see the handspeed, the explosiveness, decent power, decent punching technique, good chin, above average foot speed. But he just doesn't put them all together. He should be decisively beating guys like Fury and Ruiz with these attributes.
