How will a Parker vs Bakole rematch play out?

I think this fight makes sense because of the “Bakole did come in on short notice” storyline. The question is how will Bakole do against Parker if he is properly prepared? Giving Bakole a rematch is the honorable thing to do for Parker. And if Dubois is avoiding Parker then why not? Parker and Bakole are both Top 10 fighters.

The result would be the same: Parker by KO.

He's waited long enough for a title shot and doesn't need to be bogged down by a rematch.

Bakole wouldn't walk so aimlessly into Parker just on the hope he can take his shots and he would be much lighter fitter, keep that jab up that busted Parker's nose.

    Would be a great fight.

From Parker's perspective, going forward, a rematch makes no sense. Bigger fish to fry. Just needs to land one.

Parker would find and land similar shots on Bakole regardless. It might take him longer and he might have to take a few more in return.

Bakole doesn't have the defense and he hasn't shown anything more to trouble Parker over the course of 12 rounds.

Saying that, it is heavyweight and Bakole hits hard so a Bakole KO is always on the table. Overall an unnecessary risk for Parker when he's worked so hard to get to the position he is in now on the cusp of a title shot.

Not convinced that the timing of Bakole's arrival made that much difference. If it was a long-run fight where Bakole gassed out early, or he looked really slow there might be a stronger case for this but he just got hit with a good shot and got knocked out.

I think Bakole can get a few good wins (I think he will beat Ajagba) and is a strong gatekeeper, he could end up being a fringe contender but Parker is a step above him.

    Ill go Parker.

I dont buy into the narrative that Bakole got folded because it was short notice.

I think Parker should be getting DD next but if that doesnt happen this is a good fight to make for both.

Bakole was never very good, the win over Anderson made him overrated, Parker would beat him again, Bakole is beatable by other fighters in the division as well...

I don’t think it was a fair fight but I also don’t see what Parker gains by giving him a rematch. He’s earned his title shot, let him have it.

Not interested. Doesn't do anything for the division. Give Parker his title shot, and have Bakole take on another contender to work his way up.

No more rematches. Please. Everyone doesn't have to fight everyone multiple times.

We don't need more "interim" belts because champs are too busy with rematch after rematch.

Parker blew out Bakole in two. Parker won. Nothing in that fight warrants a rematch.

Usyk should fight Parker. Bivol should fight Benavidez. Keep things moving.

Parker needs to fight Usyk Dubois winner. If he wins, he defends vs Kabayel. Then Bakole can get a shot. Not until then.

Pointless rematch that does nothing for Parker.

If it did happen, I'm not sure it would play out all that different. I rewatched the fight this morning and Parker was just teeing off with several right hands on Bakole before the big one landed. Parker was hardly being sneaky, he just kept spamming the right hand and Bakole either thought Parker couldn't hurt him or simply couldn't fight any other way but walk forward and take shots to land shots.

Bakole is a pretty basic fighter when it comes down to it, slow feet, easy to hit, tiny gas tank. He has some speed and power and a decent enough jab but at the top level I expect he'll always be out of his depth.

I’m a fan of Bakole and think he’d have a solid chance of winning a rematch, but it makes no sense from the perspective of Parker. I think Kabayel is the fight to make for Parker.
