Sorry, I got distracted by the 'tool' reference. You said 'Parker had beaten better opposition' and my point was that it didn't really matter because he's the champion and so he should have done. I agree, Parker has beaten better opposition. I can't remember Hughie turning down an AJ fight, I'm not doubting you're wrong, I do remember him turning down Whyte though. What I'd say to that is that his dad said he was ill and had been since he was 15. I'm guessing that he probably didn't want his son getting in the ring with the most devastating knockout artist in the division when he's not 100% well/fit or Dillian Whyte. He's fighting Parker so obviously he must think he's recovered now. The back injury wasn't very convincing, however the fella's in white coats backed up that claim (I know that doesn't mean much) and he's still been allowed to fulfil his mandatory position by that WBO, so that's all that really matters, we can't prove whether he was lying or not.
I'll buy it because I like the Fury's and it's a great fight, although a poor card. Pity not many else will, but what does Hennessy expect with no undercard, no promotion and no broadcaster. It's amazing how badly Mick has handled this, they stand to lose and awful lot of money. If Hughie loses, Mick surely goes under. Will it sell many PPV's in New Zeland?
I was going to mention the same thing. Maybe Mick & Co are expecting a lot of buys from New Zealand although I would have thought the time difference will reduce the numbers.
Thats whats crazy about it. They moved the fight AWAY from the largest market for it!! Words cant describe how ******ed that is
Yeah it could definitely be looked at like that. Some of the comments in this thread regarding the financial projection for the fight has me in agreement that Fury and his team are taking a gamble and will wait for the paydays to come if/when he beats Parker. Maybe Hughie's team were a bit sceptical about being given a fair shake in regards to the judges etc. in New Zealand. As it happens though, I wouldn't be in the slightest bit surprised if Parker is hard done by over here in the UK. I think Parker will have to win by KO or give Fury a one-sided beatdown to keep his belt.
Duco have the rights for Aust, NZ and the Pacific Islands...so Mick is getting no revenue from there.
Has he tried Burger King, he could promote it with a "Buy a double flame grilled burger and watch the fight free" Selected customers only, Buy a family meal deal and you become a VIP for the night.
I wonder who will be doing the commentary. Maybe fat Mick mumbling something in between devouring his several buckets of KFC. With Tyson summarising in between his hedgehog snacks. This farce is more entertaining than the fight will be.
I'm gonna buy it too. I really think Hughie will win this. I can see his movement and jab causing major problems for Parker who won't be able to get a decent shot on Fury to trouble him. Such a shame he could potentially be a new world champion to a minority audience on YouTube.
Yeah, I don't think I will be buying it...they have handled it terribly and the fight did deserve better so as a small protest against this they are not having my money ha! I am out on Saturday night anyway and It will be on Youtube to watch free almost immediately so will just watch in the morning. I am interested to watch it... I keep changing my mind as to who will win. Im going with Parker right now.
