"Unbeaten Brit looms large as Joseph Parker’s next opponent By Patrick McKendry Kiwi heavyweight boxer Joseph Parker is getting closer to signing off on a fight against Englishman Joe “Juggernaut” Joyce which is likely to take place in London in June." Your thoughts on this matchup?
Parker better come In lighter and not as heavy as he did against Chisora!!! If he boxes and moves well then I can see him nicking a points win. But then again, I could also see JJ slowing him down with Parker taking too many on the chin.
Joyce's workrate + Parker unwilling to win = Joyce UD. If Parker pulls it off though i'll be impressed
Joyce outworks Parker. Parker is a lazy fighter who throws flashy combinations and then wants to take a 30 second break. Joyce just needs to be Joyce and keep on walking forward throwing punches and Parker is going to be forced onto the back foot. Joyce UD after hurting Parker multiple times in the fight. The best strength to have against Parker, is a high work rate and a good set of whiskers.
Misleading thread title. Made it sound like it was a done deal. If it does go through I'll pick Parker by KO. I feel he's turned a corner is and on his second wave to a title.
Neither fighter has much of a defence, neither are going to knock each other out. Joyce has a better jab and could keep Parker at range, but Parker is a better boxer all round, and could take advantage of how slow Joyce is. Either fighter by SD, but I'm going for parker by MD or SD.
Poor Parker. I struggle to see how he gets any big fights after Joyce beats him down. I loved Parker's performance against Chisora last time out, but this is the worst possible style matchup for him. He'll be eating non-stop steampole jabs from the big man, and getting battered around on the inside. He's tough enough to last to the final bell, but that's not necessarily a good thing when you're fighting the likes of Joyce who delivers an unholy amount of blunt force trauma to a human body over the course of twelve rounds. Parker won't be the same after this.
Hard fight for both of them. JJ seems a bit hungrier to me and I think he nicks a decision if this goes down.
