I understand this is completely hypothetical, but I would love to see this match up.
Simply because some on here claim Povetkin is a world class fighter. I don't see it. The guy is easy to hit, telegraphed and incredibly one dimensional coming forward.

Now, don't get it twisted. I don't usually put Parker in the same sentence as 'world class'. As I really don't believe he would be at this level in a different age. However, now is now...

I would like to see Parker vs Povetkin for a few reasons:

    - Parker would tee off on Povetkin. That body is always wide open and Povetkin is a punching bag when it comes to counter punching.

    - Povetkin would be able to take advantage of Parkers defense going backwards. That awkward over hand/looping hook that Povetkin throws would be close to finding a home on Parkers mandible when standing so tall going backwards.

    - Parker would use his speed to beat that face into pizza.

    - Povetkin deserves to fight a young fella with hands. When I saw deserve, I mean he deserves a beating because he is a disgusting PED cheat who is currently getting away with murder.

    - Wilder, Stiverne and the likes were meant to fight Pedvetkin, but the fights didn't eventuate because of Povetkins inability to put the needle down. Given that, I don't think those guys see a point in looking to put a fight in place with Pedvetkin again. However, it would be a good fight for Parker (as many believe he needs more ring time before going in with the wolves). It would also rise his stocks with the US viewers for knocking out the PED cheat who has been wasting their fighters time.

He should register Pedvetkin as a trademark...

Oh I'm sure Povetkin would win as long as he managed to give a clean sample lol.
The way I see it is given his experience and undoubted Olympic credentials and his power I just think he would get to Parker eventually, the way he kept on catching his opponent yesterday sometimes twice with that left hook as in the knock out was incredible,he seems to have great vision in the ring to be able to duck punches coming his way and on his way up catch his opponent with big hurtful shots, great match up with Parker actually I'd love to see it?

Povetkin in a very entertaining but brutal fight... for Parker.

They've both beaten Takam, Parker was in a similar if not slightly more favourable place on the cards as Povetkin by the 10th but Povetkin was in PEDvetkin mode when he KO'd Takam at that point.... Povetkin vs Parker I'd called it potentially an extremely close fight though PEDvetkin would probably beat most HWs, Parker included - but that means nothing tbh.

Povetkin would beat him, if Ruiz Jr can force him back and make Parker box where he is less effective then Povetkin could do the same, though have far more success than Ruiz Jr did.

Personally I wouldn't want to see another young fighter's career get derailed by a drug cheat. Parker has the potential to get better and sticking him in with a fighter Povetkin at this stage of his career would be a mistake. I doubt Povetkin will get any meaningful fights anytime soon, he's now been labelled as a drug cheat and he can be easily avoided.

Right, let's be clear with this - Parker actually chose to move backwards, that was not Ruiz forcing it on him. He said multiple times before the fight he was going to mimic Lennox Lewis win over David Tua, watch that fight on yut00b if you need refreshing :)

That was his game plan, whether that was a great game plan or not is another question... but he won using it, and it's not his familiar fighting style and he was confident enough in doing it to use it to take the win and he did so - albeit VERY uncomfortably close decision.

I'd pick Pedvetkin over Parker but Parker over Povetkin (I think he'll be a shadow of himself if clean).

What we really need to discuss is Parker vs Hughie Fury - which is actually likely to happen

A number of punters are picking Hughie to win that matchup. I personally don't think he can hold off a live body like Parker.

POOvetkin if he came in clean, would probably get outboxed. POOvetkin on PED'S he'd probably starch Parker. POOvetkin will never come in clean, I don't want to see that.

I think Parker should defintely spar Povetkin. Po or Pedvetkin wont matter, its sparring. Alexander would offer Parker a lot in sparring alone.

Povetkin put on a great performance of boxing yesterday (and I watched it right here on ESB which was awesome) but I havent forgot how easily Wlad dealt to him. I had Wlad winning all 12 rounds. Parker would probably analyse that fight as well as others if they were to fight.

    Povetkin wins a close fight

Parker is certainly on the top 5-10 level and I think he would be a good challenge for anyone in the top 5
