It would make no sense for Parker, the WBO champion, to fight Povetkin who just failed a drug test. The WBO probably wouldn't even allow the fight to happen. However, if they actually fought, Povetkin would win, because he is entirely different level skillwise to Parker. Povetkin is obviously much more experienced, having fought so many champions and top rated fighters throughout his career, as opposed to Parker who is relatively inexperienced and struggled the only 2 times he stepped up close to a top 10 opponent. Two different classes of fighters. But then again, why would any champion fight Povetkin now that he has failed a doping test.
I like Parker, and I think that he has talent.Sure,he is a work in progress and still has to learn one or two things.Do I think that he beat Povetkin at this point of his career? Nah! Parker looked quite limited and less than stellar against a better journeyman. And lets be honest Andy Ruiz is a kind of gatekeeper at best.He has beaten a bunch of nobodies so far.Even an old and totally shot version of Lyakhovich made the water hot for him.Any Ruiz wouldnt last more than 5-6 rounds against Povetkin. Takam, too, made the water hot for young Parker. Parker would be the huge underdog in a fight against Povetkin IMO.I for my part think that the Russian would beat him black and blue.Too early for Parker to have such a tough fight against such an experienced opponent. Two years from now on the game will be totally different.
Possibly true. But Parker always does better against the taller fighters. He likes to be the aggressor. So he can still make waves in the HW division.
