.. .. another mismatch or legit opponent for Parker..? To me seems like Parker can learn abit if Tank goes the distance as usual, he can bang. Durable chin, put on abit of weight so stamina and punch output maybe abit suspect, not much more I know of him apart from whats on YT and boxrec. And age catching up and seems hes taking all the stepping stone $$$ fights as one would do coming to the back end of his career. Thoughts..
I do think it should be a mismatch and Parker will win comfortably. It would be good to see Parker fight a few rounds though. Hopefully Tanks durability is still there and he can teach Parker a few things. Not a waste of time fight as Parker is new to the game. These are good fights for a young prospect i reckon. Tank has a reasonable amount of name recognition as well as heaps of experience. Stopping the tank will have more people taking notice as well.
This is going to be a good experience for Parker. We have all seen Parkers chin is still unknown. (Ive seen it in the amateurs and it was good, but this is another level). Williams is a solid guy. He will take a good amount of punches but he still has some power of his own. I see Parker winning by TKO from an accumulation of damage. I think Williams is too tough to take a 1 punch KO from Parker. If Cameron gets past Meehan, it is rumoured Parker will take on Cameron for a 1million dollar sweepstake.
I'm more a lurker, though thought I'd pop in specifically to see if the discussion is popping up about this fight yet - well timed... seems like everyone so far are thinking similar to me, seems a good consensus. Looking forward to the fight!
They are moving Parker forward fairly quickly but also, so far at least, smartly as well. Hopefully he gets Williams out of the way and continues on his upward path.
Apologies if this is a silly question, but Parker fought Brian Minto a while ago - and dealt with him pretty easily. I'm still a bit green with a lot of these fighters but Minto appears to rank similarly or better than Sherman Williams, and was meant to be a pretty solid test in his own right. Is Sherman that much more dangerous than Minto?
PPV in Australia is a complete joke, ones a journeyman and the other a NZ prospect who is fairly unknown across the ditch.
