Parker first agreed with Joe Joyce, and the fight was supposed to take place this summer, but the match was postponed to September. But Parker didn't want to wait that long, so he called out Whyte again.

Parker thinks he wants a rematch against Whyte but when the roughhousing starts and he is gassing that extra spark and tenacity he requires will still be missing. He goes extremely negative.

Watching 6'8" 270 pound titan Fury walk Whyte would give anyone confidence I guess

"New Parker" (from the fight Parker Vs Chisora 2) would beat White.
He was never knocked out anyway, unlike White.
I like Joseph Parker as a boxer, so it is possible that I am biased.

I'd give Parker a better chance right now than before. Whyte's coming off a big loss and Parker looked better under a new trainer.

I also assume this is a negotiation tactic. Warren's pressing to sign Parker for a 3 fight deal to secure the Joyce fight so Parker calls out Whyte showing he has options and doesn't need Joyce.

How on earth would it be a negotiating tactic?

Parker could fight the WBO #1 contender Joyce in July for the mandatory spot.

Parker said he couldn't fight Joyce because Andy Lee's wife is pregnant and due around the time of the July fight. Everyone here just spent a week making excuses for Parker's decision and saying they agreed the fight should be moved back so Parker can have his trainer.

Now Parker wants to fight Whyte because he doesn't want to wait? Whyte is currently the #6 WBC contender and just came off a drubbing against Fury. Whyte isn't going to be ready this summer.

Parker finally gets in position to fight a mandatory for a title shot, and he thinks saying he may just fight Whyte instead would be a negotiating tactic?

Go ahead and fight Whyte next. I'm sure Whyte will be ready at the end of the year sometime, if at all. How that gets him to a title shot quicker, I just don't see it.

If people don't want to step up, especially after going through the motions of posing for photos with an opponent they have zero interest in actually fighting only to bait and switch, they need to be ignored.

Parker clearly isn't interested in fighting Fury, or fighting Joyce or becoming a mandatory for the Usyk-Joshua II winner.

If you don't want to be champ, what's the point? Just stick to money laundering and DJing.

Wouldn't a win over Joyce do more for him at this stage?

Of course, Joyce is rated #1 by the WBO and #2 by the WBC.

Parker is rated below Joyce in both. Whyte is rated below both of them in the WBC (Whyte isn't rated at all by the three other orgs).

So Warren says it's due to Lee's pregnancy which magically in your mind becomes Parker saying it was due to the pregnancy. You realise Frank Warren and Joseph Parker are differently people right and Warren as Joyce's promoter who wants options on Parker has a vested interest in making Parker look bad to try and pressure him into signing a 3 fight deal.

Sure there's a mandatory at stake but Parker is still only 30 and many heavies peak late when in their 30's, so he has time unlike the much older Joyce. Parker's already been a champion before too.

Fact is Warren announced the Joyce/Parker fight before it was signed and is trying to get options on Parker. Parker doesn't want to sign and that's the reason why this fight isn't happening, the pregnancy excuse from Warren is ludicrous that's him just trying to shift blame for the fight not happening in July.

It's a pretty common negotiating tactic to call out other fighters when negotiating a fight where both sides are vying for leverage. Like when Joshua said he could vacate the WBO belt and fight Fury next instead of Usyk his mandatory at the time to prevent a purse bid. But hey lets ignore what is pretty obvious and stick with the stupid pregnancy excuse Warren came up with.

Parker had no problem promoting a Joe Joyce fight and doing a face off with him when Frank Warren wasn't even around.

But let's pretend Joseph Parker CAN'T WAIT to fight Fury for the World Title ... and let's pretend Parker CAN'T WAIT to fight the Usyk/Joshua winner for their belts ... just like Joseph Parker pretended he COULDN'T WAIT to fight Joe Joyce for the top spot in the WBO ... until he decided everyone needed to wait.

Parker is a coward ... and a bad DJ.

So he's ducking Joyce at the moment, and will age him out a little more. Sad

Paint Dry just wants some relatively easy money earners. He's got no ambition.

Didn't he say that he can't fight Joyce? Now he can fight Whyte?

    This is disgraceful.

And since when did it become a thing to call out guys coming off a loss? Why didn't he just go to the hospital to issue the challenge when the man was lying in bed getting his post-fight examination?

    Really, paint-dry can **** off.

It was my assumption that Paint Dry pulled out last minute from the Joyce fight was because he has agreed to face a shop worn Whyte.

If he has pulled out without a big money fight like Whyte on PPV then he is a fool. It also makes him look like a coward and ducking Joyce.

Parker does beat Whyte in the rematch. I think the fact he sits down on his punches more and that Whyte’s punch resistance is poor now will be crucial.

Joyce's promoter won't finalize fight unless Parker signs a 3-fight deal

Little wonder Parker is looking at other options......
