I don't think they will pay him more than 100K for fighting Whyte. He probably pulled out because some wise man hinted that he has no chance against Joyce at this moment. So he decided someone else takes care of Joyce for him, he wouldn't want another loss in his career.

I don't think he will fight Whyte anyway, because Whyte is still dangerous. He'll probably fight someone like Kownacki or Ajagba.

Gets more £££ by fighting Whyte than he does Joyce. Easy decision.

Parker had the tools to win the first fight but didn’t want it enough.

I do like him as a fighter when he’s in shape. Fast hands, bit of pop and can take a shot too.

To be fair Parker deserved an immediate rematch with Whyte after the way he lost the first fight.

Is there an actual source for this?

This makes no sense at all.

    1. Parker is the reason why the Joce fight was postponed

    2. Joyce is ranked way above Whyte at this point and would probably bring Parker another title shot if he beats JJ

Parker was headbutted to the ground in the first Whyte fight. He always wanted a rematch.

Regarding Joyce, I think Parker may be reluctant to sign a 3-fight deal with Joyce's promoter just to get that fight.

So Whyte becomes a good option
