PARKER was Offered ZHANG + DUBOIS Before WILDER

Parker needs to hurt Wilder to have any success in this fight. The only top 10 fighter we've seen him hurt is an exhausted Round 11 & 12 Whyte, who was about the chinniest of the top 10 at the time.

Parker landed flush on Joyce all night and never wobbled him. That was written off at the time by the British hype about Joyce having the bone density of a rhino, but that was completely mythbusted by Zhang.

If Parker can't hurt Wilder then there really isn't any path for him being a future contender.

It's hard to say who Parker's best stoppage wins are with confidence though.

We do know though that he hasn't stopped any of his 11 best opponents, including Massey, Fa and Cojanu.

Even prior to Wilder 2, Fury had stopped Cunningham, Chisora, Hammer. Much better and more durable fighters than anyone Parker had stopped.

 

Prior to Wilder 2 the general consensus around here was that Fury was pillow fisted.
