Parker said "YES" to both Dubois and Zhang - then "YES" to Wilder.

No-one could criticize him for ducking.

Aside from Fury x3, Ortiz x2. Parker would be lucky to not have 5 losses, rather than 2 losses and a draw.

And it's not just about boxing level/ability. Parker would have beaten Stiverne and Duhaupas imo. But Stiverne KO'd top 10 ranked Arreola and Duhaupas KO'd 22-0 Helenius. Who has Parker ever stopped? Not Cojanu, not Fa, not Massey, let alone guys like Takam, Hughie, Chisora and Ruiz, let alone Whyte, Joshua and Joyce. So if Parker can't win on points (and he failed to do so against Whyte), he may well be less effective than the likes of Stiverne and Duhaupas.

He'd probably be undefeated against Parker's list.

It's like Răzvan Cojanu knew some sort of Romanian gypsy curse that he put on Parker that ensures he will not look good for two fights in a row. Because that weird on-again/off-again streak with Parker started when he fought Cojanu.

Parker looked good against Simon Kean, so he probably should be a bit cautious in choosing his next opponent.

Jennings could not ko a fly. He had plenty of fights against cab drivers who went to a decision.
Sterverne would have lost to Parker. He went to a draw with Charles Davis who was 17-17 going into their fight. Sterverne was also koed Demetrous King who retired 15-20. His win for the title was a vacant title fight with Chris Arreola who's a mid level guy.

Parker would have been the favorite against Sterverne, and he would have been near even against Luiz Ortiz.

His only 3 losses are two decisions losses , 1 with Whyte who has good power and near unbeaten, AJ who was number 1 at the time and was the champ, then a ko in the 11th to Joyce who was an accomplished amateur and a good puncher. These losses are far more forgivable than Sterverne's losses.

Your only knock on Parker is that he didn't get a ko. I don't even know what you're trying to argue against. Parker has the tools to point Ortiz. Ortiz like i said earlier beat like 4 decent guys, but he wasn't a world beater. Most of his greatest wins were against guys who had 25 fights or less and retired with ko losses and like 5-7 losses on their records.

Ortiz was so dominate largely due to experience through the cuban fighting system which they have 100s of amateur fights from a very young age. He would have met his equal in Parker but a younger version of him.

You guys miss a great point too, his losses have been mostly decisions by top ten and top 1 , all fighters are determine by style.

Boxing fans have unrealistic expectations of their fighters. If Parker was a glory kickboxer or mma fighter, we would all embrace his accolades, boxing fans have only respect for undefeated guys with padded records. It's honestly like an echo chamber in here. Too much fighter worshipping on the top with unrealistic views about fighting.

"Your only knock on Parker is that he didn't get a ko."

Parker's shown an inability to stop anyone Cojanu-level or above. That is a severe limitation if he can't win on points and he wasn't able to beat Whyte on points. He needed A-side decisions against Ruiz and Chisora. This combination makes him very limited.

The thing many people miss with Ortiz is it's hard to have an impressive list of wins if name opponents avoid you. Practically all of Parker's best opponents avoided Ortiz. The only one of any note to fight him was Ruiz, who aged Ortiz out to 43 officially and went 50-50 with him over 12 rounds. This suggests that the oldest, most shopworn version of Ortiz and "prime Parker" are on the exact same level. The officially 38 year old, undefeated Ortiz that Wilder fought would have very likely beaten Parker. I'd also favour the Ortiz from Wilder 2.

I hope he proves you right by actually fighting AJ and Joyce rather than just talking about it.

If Joshua beats Wallin he'll go down the IBF route for the vacant title with Hrgovic, rather than a far more lucrative but also more dangerous fight with Wilder.

Joyce looked like he'd seen a ghost in his ringwalk for Zhang 2. He's no longer a factor.

Wouldnt be surprised if Parker beat active Wilder either...so long as you make Wilder fight going backwards AND dont get hit w a straight righthand its an auto win.

    Wilder isnt good...

Parker will fight anyone but I do hope that we do see some engagement with Wilder rather than a repeat of his fight with AJ.

I assume he would go the IBF World Title route. I mean that’s ultimately the goal right? To become world champion.

This has always annoyed me. I get there's a lot of nonsense that happens in boxing, but that first knockdown was a 3 point swing off a headbutt.
