Lmao perfectly put. Doesn't care about finances but mentions it all the time lol. It's so transparent.
Indeed, it is a great film. I reckon both fighters will be offered a career high payday, but it may still be seen as lowballing. Hearn will be looking at percentages. His argument will be something like, why should x and y get a 900% pay rise on their highest payday, while Joshua gets, say an 80% pay rise from his Takam fight, or even a pay cut from his Wlad fight. Fighters claim it’s not about money, but we know different.
I have a great opinion of Joshua, but I can't tell spit it right now lol. They are on collision course. The better man will win.
You do realise that sport is the way it is because of the revenue it generates.. More popular sport generate more revenue making it more popular and so on.. Same with individuals and teams which is why more popular gets more money. Pretty simple fact.. Money is the only thing that matters in sport not belts, not championships, not titles. These things are good to generate more money.. Both Parker and Wilder are over estimating their worth because they both have a belt which give how many have them they aren't worth all that much.. Put it this way, Tyson Fury was called out after the Wlad fight not because he would be the easiest fight (I think he will be far the hardest for AJ) but because it would generate the most money.. Anyone who isn't considering the financial aspect of this is quite honestly acting like a spoilt child who wasn't allowed to get a toy at the supermarket...
I fully agree Joshua should not accept less just to unify these guys are not near the draw he is and he needs to firmly acknowledge his popularity and accept nothing less than what he rightfully deserves in each potential contract
Perhaps you are looking at it wrong and Joshua is overplaying his - if neither Wilder or Parker will fight Joshua for the splits that Joshua's team are offering but are happy to keep doing what they are doing then perhaps the aren't the ones overplaying their hand at all. Lets put it another way, Hearn is now budging on his offer vs Parker... and no doubt Team Parker will be budging on their insistence for 40%. This is pretty much what I'd expected the whole way, LOTS of us had said that somewhere in realms of 70:30 to 65:35 in favour of AJ seems much more reasonable than either 80:20 or 50:50 which were initially mentioned by the respective camps. It's no doubt just bluster to try and push the extremes to see what either team could get away with.
Maybe, maybe not - at the end of the day if the price isn't right for all involved then there is no unification... whether you guys think it's fair on Joshua or not.
I think Parker's people have already confirmed they'd accept less than 40%. Both have shown they can compromise to make this fight which is why I think it will happen.
Stop saying lmao so many times. Wilder earned $1.4 million in his last fight. http://www.boxingnews24.com/2017/11/purses-wilder-1-4m-stiverne-506k/ Joshua earned 10 million pound against a fill in opponent. As fans we just want to see the best fight the best but you can see why Joshua's people are laughing at Deontay's 50-50 purse split demands.
I like Parker, I really do, he seems like a no nonesense sort of man, I think he has a solid enough following and deserves a decent deal, also he will come to the UK to fight and it will make more money for all involved. Wilder does not have a solid following, he is not a draw in his own country so nothing more than 25% and that will still be a career high payday so he can't expect more or complain.
I disagree.. I actually think Wilder is more known than Parker at the moment and is looked at as the bigger fight compared to Parker. Wilder Deserves at least 40% when he fights Joshua.
