If Joshua doesn't fight Wilder sooner rather than later there is a risk Wilder will fight someone like Breazeale and lose, or at least win looking bad in the process. Suddenly the Wilder fight has lost its shine. IMO the Wilder fight is there for the taking now. If he stalls it ... Joshua also has to content with the argument that Wilder tops him just hanging there. And of course Joshua could lose his next fight against a Miller or someone of similar status, for whatever reason, and the Wilder fight is not going to attract the interest that it would right now.

As for Parker ... he's a very solid opponent with a belt and a zero, so legacy wise, it has a lot of reward. It can be built up just on those attributes, that it's a credible fight that could mean something in the context of the history of the division.

Personally, I'd pass on both of those fights just to watch Joshua KO Haye and relegate him out of things once and for all.

Joshua-Parker is as ripe as it is going to be. As is Joshua-Wilder.

Enough with the excuses already. Get one of them made.

WBC is by far the worst of the organizations. I take IBO as more legit.

I don't think they are reluctant to fight Wilder, even before Joshua won a belt they were looking to aim Joshua at Wilder as then he was seen as the weakest champion. But then the IBF belt suddenly became available after Fury was stripped and Martin was gifted the belt.

Hearn clearly has a plan that he's outlined for some time, it's not new information that he wants Wilder in late 2018 after Joshua has beaten Parker. So I agree they are not rushing the fight.

But Wilder smartly has been spinning this to make it seem like Joshua is ducking but anyone who is impartial can see that it's all a ruse. Wilder doesn't want the fight now. Wilder's team never approached Joshua's team about the fight until recently and only after they had begun negotiations with Parker. Wilder hasn't climbed down from the 50/50 demand which is a clear road block, Wilder will never get 50% and he knows it.

Parker is now asking for only 35%, how does Wilder asking for 50% ensure he is next. Only an idiot would choose to fight Wilder now over Parker the financials favour the Parker deal happening and Wilder obviously won't drop to match Parker's offer because he doesn't want the fight now.

But in reality all this suits Hearn. The more Wilder does to create this supposed narrative that Joshua is ducking the more interest there is in this fight, which is exactly what he wanted and why he wants Wilder after Parker.

Not really because as I said to somebody else, he brought a world title in his last fight when he earned how much? And in that fight he didn't have the potential reward of more titles and #1 status.

If he fights somebody other than Joshua he will still be bringing a world title to the table but will be fighting for much less reward.

If Team Parker won't accept a career high payday which is more than he could earn against somebody else, it's because they don't believe he will win and are effectively trying to sell his belt.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been deleted tbh. Only 65% for father of god AJ? You'd better change the thread to 0% to Parker (even though the 35% is based on info in the public domain) or else you can say goodbye to this thread too.

The key words in my post you quoted were "and over boxing history."

I think they are reluctant to fight Wilder, and Hearn is approaching that fight with great caution. Wilder's power and unpredictability is probably the greatest threat out there to Joshua's reign and Hearn is treading carefully.

This will get done for 67 - 33.

Will be a good fight and be good to see AJ vs someone young and ambitious.

Think anything above 30% is great for Parker. If he gets around 8mil then fair play to him!

On a percentage basis Parker did very well out of the Hughie Fury fight.

How much do you think Hughie and Fat Mick made out of that fight? Hughie not much. Mick lost on it. Couldn't give away free beer Mick. Not a promoter's backside.

Yep - sad about the Fury fight.

    Not good at all.
