Takam showed that if you have good enough whiskers then you can take AJ's power.. I would think Parker has as good a chin as Takam so he should be in there.. On the other side Takem and Parker went to war, AJ wasn't that troubled...
I didnt know your one of the brothers. Private message me your bank account so you can receive some of the rewards of being a Parker fan on here
Well nothing wrong with thinking your guy will win. However Parker hasn't had one fight as a champion to suggest hes near Joshua and thats including Takam who was not only in better shape for Joshua but had a 2 week advantage ona guy who was training fora 6'5 back foot defense jabber the entire time in Pulev...lol MOST ppl thought Parker lost that Takam fight anyway( he didnt) but it puts him no even close to how Joshua who won EVERY rnd against Takam . How Joshua actually approaches the easy to hit Parker as opposed to shorter roll with punches Takam has no meaning on what Parker says does it ? Joshua will knock Parker out relatively quick.
Entertaining it will be but close, idk how long Parker could keep it close. He fades far worse than Aj ever does..Aj didn't even fade, he had an opponent with a good chin that wasn't throwing back. Doing exactly what was drawn yo was great imho. Parker fought takam ? Did be also win every single round and hurt him multiple times while setting him up for the late kill, which is exactly what happened. Ummm, wasn't Parker takam a competitive fight ? If I remember correctly, the posters claiming last night was "competitive" should watch the Parker fight. Not sure what those posters would make out that fight. I seem to think I remember Parker being in some trouble by shots, not any butts that broke his nose..
I give him a good chance of going the distance with AJ after yesterday. I still struggle to see him getting a win. Comparing their outings against Takam - AJ seemed to land a bunch more clean shots than Parker did. Parker has really struggled to land cleanly at the top level - a lot of his shots are parried, grazing or missing in his last few fights. If he could find some accuracy with those shots against top opponents then absolutely I give him a chance.
Nothing has changed in my view. I have bee mocked a lot for saying Takam was better than anyone AJ faced until he met Klitschko and that has been proven now. I have been saying people have been underestimating how much of a chance Parker would have against Joshua and that has adjusted in some people's eyes since the Takam fight.... But while I have had more faith in Parker than a lot I still call AJ a heavy favourite. Parker absolutely has a chance to win, more than just a remote punchers chance but if it were even odds I would be putting my money on AJs side without hesitation. I think Parker did his best performance he has done against Hughie so I think he is as prepared as he ever had been for fighting someone like AJ but the reality is I don't have faith that Parker's whiskers would hold to Joshua for the 12 rounds I suspect he will need to be in the ring for and fighting with enough aggression to gain points or a KO in order to win, he will work that out and become a bit more negative and try and fight from range which suits AJ perfectly. Damned if he does and damned if he don't as it were. I would love to be proven wrong, but so far I feel like I've been on a relatvely flawless stretch of picking the dynamics between these guys and each time it turns out how I expected it kinda increases my confidence that I have a decent idea on where they stand and right now AJ hasn't got a huge amount to worry about now that Ortiz and Fury are pretty much out of the picture.
Parker will take the fight to aj if he has a great chin he could win this he hits hard enough to hurt aj and Parker might not look as great in his fights but apart from klitcshko Parker has fhe better record and fought some difficult style match ups where aj has been made to look great All the opponents were there to be knocked out
I still favour Joshua. Joshua did far better against Takam than Parker did. There were stages during Parker/Takam fight than Takam looked like he could take Parker out. Parker gassed very badly in that fight. While Joshua never looked in trouble, took Takam's shots well and fired and back and was even the one looking to take the fight to Takam unlike Parker who was forced to box against Takam and he couldn't stand and trade with him like Joshua did. Parker can't just try and stand and trade with Joshua as it's clear Joshua is more comfortable on the inside and is the bigger puncher based off their performances against Takam. Parker will need to use more movement like Takam did, get off first, counter when he can, which he rarely does and then move to avoid getting countered. I don't think Parker has the repertoire of skills to pull it off.
This. While I really hope Parker can pull it off, I can't see it happening. The reason Takam gave Joshua problems is because he's very hard to hit. When he covers up there aren't many gaps for Joshua to hit, so Joshua got frustrated and just tried to club through Takam's guard. Unfortunately for Parker although his chin is probably even better than Takam's he's a good deal easier to hit. Because of that he won't be able to get in close enough to trouble Joshua like Takam did in a few rounds without getting caught on the way in. Pulev btw would have exactly the same problem. A good version of Pulev should decision Takam but would get blasted out against Joshua well before the tenth. Styles make fights.
