Wardley has been my dark horse of the division for a number of years, particularly since people thought Nathan Gorman was gonna box rings round him, while I thought Wardkey would KTFO that lazy tub of lard. Davison will be drilling no more than a handful of moves/scenarios that Wardley will hopefully execute successfully. Parker will rightly be the favourite and I see him winning virtually every round until Wardley seizes on that opening.

Parkers not as durable as i used to think he was and Wardley certainly has the firepower to hurt him and the killer instinct to stop him. Head says Parker by wide UD or late stoppage while heart says Wardley by KO when we least expect it, and being a Brit, I gotta go for Wardley, he's been good for me so far.....

Huni schooled Wardley for 9 rounds and gave him a dose of leather poisoning along the way but he didn't have the power to quite finish Wardley. Though he went very close.

Parker hits harder and more consistently hard than Huni and that is what will make for a different outcome in this one.

I don't like the fight for Parker. He should just chill on his mando. Wardley is no reward and all risk.

I'll take Fabio by KO, this is a young man's sport.

I think he might go to war actually.
Wish like hell he wouldn't, but his mobility in the ring isn't what it once was which is to be expected with the extra weight he carries now.
    Be a cracking fight.

Three years isn't a huge gap.
I think it's easy to forget Parker was a very young man when he got his hands on the title the first time. Seem like he should be old and in the twilight of his career but at 33 he's got a few years left.

yes. And if Wardley lands a lucky shot, Parker will get right up. Box until late rounds, then look to end it impressively.

crazy risk for Wardley. He’s got zero chance of outboxing Parker. He can only win via KO, against a guy who has only been KOd once, after an extended beating. Against a guy who just took out three of the biggest punchers in the division in a row.

is Saudi money involved here? Because this is going to look like Larry Holmes vs Earnie Shavers.

This is a dangerous matchup for both guys. Parker needs to stay disciplined and box clever; if he stands and trades with Wardley, I think he gets slept.

Parker sure doesn’t shy away from punchers. If he wins this, what’s next when Usyk still won’t fight him? Maybe Dubois? AJ rematch? :ggg

Parker will stop him at some point, the difference in skills is obvious...

Wardley was losing heavily against Huni before finding the knockout punch. It will be a tough match for the English fighter against an experienced opponent like Parker, who is in excellent form.

Not sure I would invest that much in the Wardley stock but he is a nice lad.

While Wardley has a nice little resumé, I don't think he was overwhelmingly expected to lose to Clarke, Huni, Adeleye, more that they were evenly matched fights that he could win or lose, and he won through grit and determination.

Parker is a solid level above the best of those guys, and really this is the first fight that I genuinely expect Wardley to lose.

Should be a fun fight though.

The guy's been in the ring with every single heavy hitter of his generation and has only been KO'd once in 39 fights and even that was after a 10 RD beatdown.

He may not be packing Tua levels of granite in his mandible but he's hardly easy pickings either.
