For those who think Parker cannot use these things well, you simply have not seen enough of him. His speed is well above Joshua. From the interview-

'On the task he faces against Joshua, Parker added: "He's dominated fighters that stand in front of him, that don't move - all they do is protect themselves and I think a lot of fighters already go into the ring scared because of the power he possesses.

"I want to fight a fight that's going to be a fast-paced fight... movement, speed and just different angles – I think that's how we are going to attack Joshua," he stated.'

    Your thoughts?

Parker needs to start letting his hands go again... He has power and good combination punching - he changed his style to that of a backfoot boxer recently and hasn't looked very good. Heard he's had some hand injuries and his team are probably worried about that and stamina against more live opponents. In any case he'll have to revert back(at least in stretches) to the old Parker who threw dynamite if he's to have a chance against AJ.

Well, he’s got the tools to do the job.
Seems like he’s got the right attitude too.

only fight i have seen of parker that he used these tactics in was the corjunu fight

he took a walk / fought in spurts /changed his angles on the outside /

but it was against an opponent who he should have just stood in front of and KTFO .

i think in that fight he was boxing to instructions of what he had been practising in the gym.

it made it a crap /dull fight that even the pro parker crowd did not get up for .

the feet part of it / backing off stepping to his right and left will stop joshua getting set but equally it will stop parker getting off and i dont see parker as a back foot fighter/ especially fighting in the lions den he is going to give away a lot of rounds being mobile and passive.

way for him to beat joshua is fight fire with fire / nacker joshua out and then come on strong when joshua huffs and puffs.

angles / yep parker needs that/ he throws to many hooks right and left / joshuas arms are going to block a lot of these / quick step off and down the pipe shots will be effective v joshua / but i have not seen parker straighten up his shots v takam/corjanu/fury/ruiz .

speed yep people are sleeping on parkers speed / fastest hands in the division and something he can definatly take advantage off v joshua .

some of parkers combos are blistering fast albeit its not so easy to do punching upwards as he found out v corjanu.

I would bloody well hope so.

I like Parker even though i am betting against him with AJ.

Personally i would love him to beat AJ, i just not willing to bet on it. I would cheer however, as long as it wasnt a horrid decision.

He can do it against Dimitrenko?

Well....that's that then, the bookmakers should stop taking bets.

Joseph Parker knows what he has to do.
We all know what he has to do.

It's whether he's capable of doing it with a very determined Anthony Joshua in the ring with him doing his own thing.

Parker really has to start winning the fight early on, impose himself early, hurt AJ and totally disrupt AJ's rhythm, because the whole "outlast him" and "wait for him to gas" routine is more likely to end in points defeat.

AJ is big and strong and powerful and athletic and has the will to win, and while he might not be a greatly skilled boxer, when you have those attributes you're likely to grind out a points win even when having a poor day at the office.

Needs to get inside. They all try the same thing against Joshua....try staying on the backfoot. Joshua ends up catching up with them all eventually. Way to beat him is get inside. Its the fear that beats half of them. Whyte got inside and Joshua very nearly fell apart. Got to go out throwing bombs. Getting on the inside. Putting punches together. Its not that hard to do. Just don't throw one punch at a time. Joshuas timings not that good. He just puts out his big one/twos that eventually lands not because he's accurate but because he's such a big unit. Their giving him room to work.

He also isn,t a good infighter. He's good at getting you on the outside before moving in and being a good inside fighter. But he struggles when guys get inside on him. Imagine having a 73 inch reach thinking you,ll beat Joshua on the outside. Hopefully parkers playing possum here.
He actually has a lot of tools that can cause Joshua problems but like most of them so far they,ve went in with the wrong game plan. Thinking Joshua will tire.. I m still one hundred percent certain Joshua's normal staminas good...its only when he gets tagged it goes. He won't tyre out unless you go out there and tag him. Parker needs to put his punches together.

Parker should just shut up and fight when the fight comes. i'm starting to lean towards wanting the Brit to win, which frightens me. i wouldn't know who i am anymore. next thing i might turn gypsy or something.

AJs movement not great but Parkers is terrible. Ok angles and fast hands fair enough but angles isn' really his bread and butter. Just dont think he has enough fire power or real boxing ability, just a step down from AJ.
