Yeah 30% could very well get it made, I think Higgins and Parker would be delighted with that considering how badly the negotiations have been going for them so far. But I think your right, Hearns is going to squeeze them lower if he can. I was surprised when he said 25% was under valuing Parker. But was even more surprised by Higgins positive response to that. Reading between the lines I don't think Hearns has even offered 25% atm, maybe not even 20%, he's clearly driving a hard bargain. But I think that response from Higgins being so positive with that 25% instead of being insulted by it will have Hearn's pushing for lower than 30%, probably will try for 25%. Higgins really needs to learn to develop a poker face he's giving so much away. If Parker had a better team he probably could of got 35% but will likely end up with 25% because his team are bunch of chancers and amateurs.
Parker doesn't have enough leverage to demand 35%. There's nobody else he could fight that would net him half as much as Joshua. I read that Povetkin offered Parker 3 or 4 million. Parker is probably netting at least 3 times that amount if he fights Joshua (at 25%).
No I think Parker asked for $4 mill for Povetkin to get a shot but Povetkin refused to pay him that much. I think Higgins saw what Wilder was going to get for the Povetkin fight and expected Parker to get a similar amount. Not sure why Povetkin refused didn't seem like an outrageous demand considering they were going to pay Wilder $4.5 mill, though that was for a mandatory.
If Browne is the back up for Parker couldn't Hearn contact Browne and offer him like 3 or 4 mill for a fight with Joshua, putting pressure on Parker to accept less than 35% as his back up plan might be ruined?
Shades Of Tua should accept whatever he's being offered if he really believes he can win. Like Hearn said , a win makes him a 3 belt champ and one of the biggest names in the sport. Then he can call all the shots and offer out 30% splits to Joshua in the rematch.
I think the fight will be made at 70/30 with Parker keeping NZ PPV revenue. That will probably net parker around £7 Million or £8 Million which is 10X some of his other defences. Joshua may fight Miller first, sometime around early March before fighting Parker late June or early July. Tough fight but I think Joshua wins it on points or by stoppage in Rd 11. With 3 belts and having killed any notion that he was ducking quality opposition Joshua will tell Wilder 65/35 but the fight will be made at 60/40 for Wembley around Dec 8th.
I think this fight will be made next, they are just haggling over the last few %. It's a big money fight so you can see why both sides, especially Duco, are willing to drag it out for another % or so. But in the end it's Joshua's best option even at 65/35 and it's Parker's best option financially even at 75/25.
